Re: Why Keep Watching?

I'm dreading going to the game on the 5th because I just know FedEx is going to be crawling with them.[/quote]

Why?

They act like asses all season long and when the Skins stuff them for once the cry like little girls.

How could you stand not seeing that drama?

We have experienced many up's downs high's and low's with this team through the years, and believe me there have been some comprable to what we're going through now. I will continue to watch every single game because I love the team, and as unrealistic as it is I believe we're going to win every game we play. These next nine games will be a true test for determining who the real individual Redskins are, to watch the effort they put forth when they don't have a post-season berth to play for. I want to see how many quit, how many lay down with fake injuries, and how many want to continue to carry the torch. These next nine games will reveal much to me about the character of this team, and I'll be here to watch every single one.
one of the best posts ever on the warpath! 56 yrs of the skins, I'm going on half that

For 3-4 hours every sunday I forget about my job have a few beers and think about nothing else but football. ( I guess it usually stretches all day sunday) I've been there when they were 1-15 and I was there when they won 3 superbowls. I will continue to watch the Skins no matter what.
We haven't had a 1-win season since '61 when we were 1-12-1.

Our worst season since then was '94 at 3-13.

I know, I still got your point and applaud you for it. I just had to go check to see when we were 1-15 because I didn't remember it.

Because a bad three hours watching the Redskins is better than a good three hours at work.

Im certainly not as old as many of you, so I haven't been a fan that long. A true fan doesn't walk out on his team when the chips are down. I watch because despite the bad, this is MY team

Re: Why Keep Watching?

Our season is sunk, but I say we beat the Cowboys. We will have two weeks to prepare for them. A lot of our injured starters should return for the game. Our players will be hungry. If the 12th Man doesn't totally punk out and start booing on the 1st drive, I think we take the Cowboys.

I'm willing to watch the rest of the season just so I can watch our team try to sink other teams' playoff hopes. Misery loves company.

I'm watching the games because no matter how poorly they play, I still love the redskins and it takes my mind off my current problems for three hours.

So, my question to all of you is why will you keep watching this team this year if there are no depth chart changes (primarily at QB)?

I'll keep watching because win or lose I like to watch my team play, it's a fun diversion for me. And there are still 9 games left to the season. It's a small ray of hope but I still have it.

But that's just me, why will you keep watching?
Watching the Redskins is what I do. I stuck with them through much worse than this.

I'm less interested in seeing who plays QB than I am in watching what approach Greg Williams takes over the next few games. The defense is just plain bad right now and I am curious to see what happens in terms of both personell and scheme. I'm not sure I ever want to see A.A. play football for this team again. IMO, replacing him will do a lot more than benching Brunell.

I remember starting to watch when I was 5 years old and I won't stop even if I am 105.

Re: Why Keep Watching?

Good to see so many committed to continuing to watch the team, I like that. We are all frustrated as hell right now but I know we'll get over it when the team starts to play better. Believe me, through the years I've witnessed much worse than what we're going through now, so I'm going to keep the faith even though it's difficult.

Re: Why Keep Watching?

I'll keep watching cuz I can't stop watching. win or lose THIS is MY team. other sports prove nice distractions, but the skins have always been a big part of my life ever since watching my first game with my grandfather. There's always that possibility of watching something amazing and the possibility of watching a potential future team star get a chance to make it onto the field. Plus it also serves as a distraction outside of work and my day to day life. Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment or maybe I just refuse to believe that the team won't be successful again, but I'll always be there rooting my heart out for them until either the team or myself goes under.
