Re: Skins interested in Luke Petitgout

Petitgout went to high school about twenty miles from me. He has maintained his southern DE roots despite his moderate success in the league. If the Redskins can sign him, I'd be delighted.

Update from JLC

Redskins Insider

"Petitgout is in the building, there for a free agent visit. Former left tackle for the Giants would be moved to guard to replace Dockery should he sign. Had some knee problems but the word is he passed Tampa's physical over the weekend. Also, he recently dropped his old agents and hired, you guessed it, Drew Rosenhaus, which never hurts when it comes to The Snyder."

With Rosenhaus being his agent, I wouldn't be surprised if Pettigout was signed by the end of the day.....

I'm assuming this would be a stop-gap move ONLY. Even so, I feel that this year out of all years, we are in a STRONG position to trade down to fill TWO areas of need with elite players. We could get a GREAT DT/DE or DE/OG or any combination you want of the two.

Ah, a Sussex County native? I did not know. That automatically increases my interest in him, seriously.

Yeah, Tony. He went to Sussex Central, but I didn't follow high school football at the time. I don't remember him setting the world ablaze, but tackles rarely do.

Stories abound of visits he's made to Dewey Beach, at least once with Shockey in tow.
