no one's arguing that he's better than PP, but stud DL are MUCH harder to get and the upgrade over the crap we have on the DL is MUCH MUCH greater than the upgrade from PP to landry at safety.

you can plug in a vet min safety and get decent production. if you try to plug in a vet min DE, you'll end up with a terrible defense.
