I was thinking he might be ready to take a little less money since he's now unsure of being employed... I'm not sure how the Bill's d-line is but it couldn't have been too much worse than ours. I'd just feel better if we could get a decent push from our front four instead of relying on LB and CB blitzes 100% of the time.

Gildon can't sign for the minimum until after the first week (i think). He's a veteren that is guaranteed his contract money until then.

I could see Gildon going to the Ravens. They showed interest when he was released by the steelers and now that Boulware is out for a good chunk of the season, I could see them bringing him in. How about us giving Terrel Buckley a look for a Nickel spot.

Well, bringing pressure with the LB's and DB's is what Williams' system is based on. If you look at his Bills' defense of last year they didn't have any household names up front yet they still managed to have an aggressive defensive unit, #2 overall in yards allowed.

They were also tied for 9th best in the league with 38 sacks and were 5th best in points allowed at 17.4 per game.

hmm sounds risky. and obviously why he needs so much speed in his players. wonder what he'd do if he had a killer Dline?

He did in Tenesse. And the result was a better defense statically than the ravens the year they won the super bowl.
