I think the talking heads are always choosing the "major" sport athlete in each matchup... last night (for instance), the matchup was b/t shaq and michael phelps. They kept bringing up shaq's past... the freakin' segment is about the present, isn't it? Phelps broke a bunch of world records recently in his sport. Shaq's on bum legs lately, so he's not really "now" imo.

At the same time though they also all picked Tony Parker over Roger Federer.
Granted, Parker was just named the NBA Finals MVP and he just married a (hot) B-list celebrity, but Federer may very well be considered the greatest tennis player of all time in the very near future.
I guess the problem with Federer is the fact that he's squeaky clean and doesn't run his yap all the time, so by ESPN's standards he's pretty much irrelevant.
