Collins playing great this game. But before we crown him, the Bears prepared for Campbell and they didn't study tendencies, etc for Collins.

Exactly. Next week, to keep the defenses guessing, ARE should get the nod.

You need a Beta machine to watch tape on Collins (I accidentally inserted that icon, but fitting for Collins, no?)

Re: Omg! Wtf! Lol! Todd Collins Is So 1337

I mentioned a few weeks back in other threads that I wanted to see if Todd Collins or Mark Brunell could execute this offense better than Jason Campbell. After last night, I got the feeling that Todd could. I noticed this about him. He gets rid of the ball way quicker than JC. On that Ladell Betts TD, there's no way JC unloads the ball that quickly and that accurately. Had he still been in, that probably would've been a sack, maybe fumble, and at best we're settling for 3. Todd Collins put the nail in the coffin, which is what we've been waiting for JC to do all season. Hopefully watching TC come in and run this O like he'd been doing it all season served Campbell well.

Yep, if we keep Saunders offense in place for the future then I most definitely think this game will benefit Campell's development.

While Campbell has improved his decision making over last season, Collins really demonstrated how this offense can look with even quicker decision making. I was astonished at how Collins was able to easily complete passes to tight spaces with far less velocity on the ball. In the Saunders system, it's clearly about making your read, and getting the ball out of your hand quickly. Jason should study Collins's play yesterday, and try to speed up his reads/delivery.

Did he really complete passes in tight spaces though? I do agree that his timing is a bit better within Saunders' system than Campbell's at the moment, but it looked like most of his passes were to wide open receiver.

How do you study for Collins? Do you think the Bears have a Betamax VCR in their film room? Tape on him is so old its in B&W. Since there's no sound cards pop up explaining the action...

Well actually, the only season he had significant playing time was with the BILLS in 1997 when he played 14 games WITHOUT Saunders. With the Chiefs, he played a couple of games but not that much film exists on him.

So really, there's NOT much to study on him. They can watch this year's preseason games I guess. :cheeky-sm

Mr. Brud Mencia, my client would like to advise you that he will be filing suit for "theft of humor in post"
