The evil in me assumes it's because it would prevent owners from having thoughts of killing off players "accidentally" to avoid paying them when they no longer have value. Again, I seriously doubt that's the reason. I just have a dark side when it comes to bidness.

Ahh....but if the Redskins don't get any cap help, couldn't someone (owner, stakeholder, or eccentric fan) conceivably develop the opposite tactic: killing another teams star player as a double-wammy, they lose the player and the caproom?

Sorry guys, but from what I googled on past situations, there is no cap relief for players that have died...specifically korey stringer.
I'm not 100% sure but about 85% sure.

If the new commissioner decides otherwise, it would be his prerogitive.

Nah, any leader knows that that tactic would only work if you're looking for a swift victory; otherwise you're going to lose players as well. It's sort of like the Revolutionary War days (and before) when you weren't supposed to hit the guy on the horse.

why the team would have to 'cut' taylor makes no sense..He is deceased so the common/humanitarian thing to do would be to erase his contract off the books. I remember when Darrell Green retired, it was listed on the skins website/roster that he had been cut. it's bullshit to me.
