Re: My New "It All Makes Sense" Theory
I'm just saying that that is what I remember hearing when he first was signed and heard it throughout his time here.... no one ever disputed it until this passed week.
I don't know if there was one or not, I just always heard ... from articles... that this was the case.

Re: My New "It All Makes Sense" Theory
Just wanted to add some fresh information that adds to my suspicion that 2008 is a stop-gap to Cowher for Dan Snyder.
When reporters first spoke about Jim Zorn, I read this... "After flying to Washington and interviewing with owner Daniel Snyder at his home, Zorn was expected to talk last night with Seahawks officials, who want to keep him on their staff. The Seahawks could promise to give him their offensive coordinator job when Coach Mike Holmgren retires, possibly after next season. That might be enough to persuade Zorn, a former Seahawks quarterback and a legendary figure in the city, to join fellow Seattle assistant Jim Mora in withdrawing his name from Redskins consideration." And now I read this about Blache tonight... "Blache this season repeatedly told colleagues he had no interest in another promotion and that he didn't plan to coach much longer, sources said, but owner Dan Snyder persuaded Blache to take on more responsibility." This is where my theory starts... these two quotes... eventhough I had not heard this about Blache before...

Re: My New "It All Makes Sense" Theory
and Blache? that info isn't new and interesting to you?
I know the Zorn quote is 3 days old, my point was to show the part about him being the OC there when Holmgren leaves because he has such strong ties to Seattle and is a legend there. anyway... it will all pan out in the end... we won't know for a year, I just can see this being a possibility is all I have said.

You are obviously not alone in this line of reasoning, but I just can't imagine even Snyder could be dumb enough to make that move. Anyways, for those that by this, who would be the ideal interim candidate? I guess it would have to be someone that would both appease Redskins fans, but would be sure to fail. Where do you find such a guy? Certainly not on one of the SuperBowl teams. This is just another conspiracy theory. At this rate Im expecting some crackpot theory that Snyder had a hand in ST death (God rest his soul). Snyder may be a dick, and he may have a history as a shitty owner; but he is not the devil, he is not conspiring to fake this season in prep for cowher, he is not dragging this thing out for his ego, or to make money, or anything else. Is it not just as likely ( and IMO more so ) that he is legitimately trying to find the best HC option? Maybe in the end he will be impatient if the next HC doesn't succeed this season and he brings Cowher in, and maybe in that scenario he had that option in the back of the mind the whole time (I wouldnt put it past the slimy bastard), but there is just no way he could plan this all out and carry it out. If you are right the man is a diabolical genious, in the mold of Hitler (not for the severity of his actions of course, just for his ability to manipulate people for his evil plans). I just very much doubt it. |
