At the bottom of the link you will see "Release Fees". Click on that tab and you will see the player's salary and release fee. If a player is released or traded the cap for that year will be hit with the "Release Fee", but the player's salary is then off the cap. So for ARE you wind up with $ 6.1M in dead-cap. OK, thanks...I think I get it now. I didn't even see those tabs the first time, I appreciate you pointing it out. I do have a couple questions:

I if they get traded does the same release fee apply???

I am also curious as to how it works for those with a smaller release fee than salary...does that mean we get that many back towards the cap?
