Resigning players long term really shouldn't be an issue, considering that deals are backloaded and the 2009 net cap increase would likely not be much at all.

The key is since (I believe) we can no longer prorate base salary and roster bonuses, and we're currently at or about the cap, every signing we make will likely be accompanied by a salary dump. Springs and Jason Taylor are likely at the top of the list.
