Re: Hypothetical Favre Speculative

I'm feeling that he'll take 4 months off in Misssissippi make look at Minnesota but if he cannot find anything I think he'll finally retire.

As for Jackson the guy is not a starting NFL QB yet, I mean he was okay but average doesn't cut it. The Vikings are a good team but they need a good QB to get them over the top.

1. You haven't watched NFL football games for very long, or

2. You need to hold your breath because there are some bad QBs out there that you are about to see.

Tarvaris Jackson is better than Bruce Gradkowski and Ken Dorsey.

Tarvaris Jackson is better than Kellen Clements.

Tarvaris Jackson is better than Cleo Lemon.

Tarvaris Jackson is better than Dan Orlovsky, Drew Stanton and the other Lions' QB whose name escapes me at the moment.

Tarvaris Jackson is better than Jordan Palmer.

Tarvaris Jackson is about the same as Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Tarvaris Jackson is better than Patrick Ramsey.

Tarvaris Jackson is better than Mark Brunell.

Those are just a few of the people currently employed in the NFL as QBs who are not as good as Tarvaris Jackson and who play worse than he does.

If you want to go back into history to find some truly bad QBs, start by looking through the ranks of those who have played QB for the Chicago Bears since Sid Luckman retired in the 50s.

The Vikings should be looking to upgrade the QB position in the off-season but keep in mind that they can do worse than what they have...
Thanks for the thesis but I said STARTING QB. Little different.

I would argue that Fitzpatrick and Orlovsky are better than Jackson too...but I won't since it isn't worth the effort....they all suck to varying degrees

Wasn't Frerotte their starter for a good part of the season? I think he only lost his job because of injury.

Jackson started the season..... Gus took over for a stretch, then Jackson started the last 3 or 4 games plus the playoff game. Pretty sure Gus wasn't injured and could have played all those games except one. I guess the Vikings thought he was their best option.

This guy needs help. He needs to find a rock to climb under. The world is just not ready to go through this again.

Not only was Freotte their starter, he was 8-3 in 11 games. Tavaris Jackson had a good game against the Cardinals, so Childress decided to go with Jackson for the playoffs becuase of a "gut feeling." Literally. That's what he said. A "gut feeling."

This was a horrible mistake by Childress IMO.

Favre is done, period. He's the last thing that anyone wants to see anymore. He needs to go sell used tires or something. I say sack Keith Obberman and bring in Favre on NBC. I can't stand Keith. Let Favre beat a mud hole in his butt and march it dry.

What team would swap their current starter for Jackson?

Then Minnesota will be happy to get Mike Vick. I'm tired of Favre, I dont care if he falls off the earth and die, and futher more, all you who think Tarvis is the worst ever, really, Schuler, Leaf, ect. Shit he has more heart than our on QB do, at least he tries.

Farve is a selfish diva who should be forced to retire. There is no reason for a guy that's been playing since 91 to lead the league in INT's. The Jets should just try and get a veteran free agent who will take care of the ball.

I think that's where it makes the most sense for him to go and is where he wanted to go all along, but I just don't see how it's possible.
Was that only in the first year... or the whole contract?

Bid on Cassell maybe?

Amen to that. He has kept his "diva-ness" hidden quite well until the past 2 years. It is apparent he is all about himself. It doesn't hurt to have ESPN gush about you 24-7 to keep your cred though. He is a big baby.

I was assuming the whole contract although I don't know that for sure.

I'd rather have Favre on my roster than scum bags brothers Vick.
