I think Jim Brown is the greatest to ever play, but I don't think he'd be quick enough to play against today's defenders. Sayers absolutely would be. Manning will retire as the best ever, Rice did, and Marvin is the second best receiver in the history of the game. As for Gonzo, I dunno, easy call. I can't imagine that Ditka or Mackey was more dominant for longer than Gonzo has been.
I can't imagine Jim Brown not succeeding in any era. He might not have been as quick as many of the RB's who are playing today, so I guess he'd just have to run people over or drag them for five or ten yards per play. He was a bad, bad man!

And Sayers was absolutely amazing! Every football fan should enjoy watching his incredible highlight reels. If not for the knee injuries that cut his career short, I think he could have become to the RB position what Jerry Rice is to the WR position.
