This WR move should have little to no impact on the cap situation. Roydell and Hackett should offset one another.

The only scenario in which the cap is even a factor anymore is if we decide to bring in an experienced OT (ahem, Runyan).

Schneed, any idea if we could afford someone like Levi Jones? I hear people calling out his name, but I get the feeling that he would demand more than we could afford.

On a similar note, if the team is bringing a lineman to camp (and not just a camp body like some of these signings) it has to be a good acquisition like Jones or Runyan. Otherwise there's not need to sulk about the team signing camp bodies like Hackett or that DT they just signed.

Levi was scheduled to get 3Million this year before he got cut. Schneed had sad we had roughly 1-1.5 mill in cap, so we would have to do a maybe a 3yr deal with 1.5 million signing bonus and vet min base. I still think its doable, and would like to see it, but I don't see it happening.

If he's still around mid to late in camp & Heyer is nicked & Williams is still struggling (see RI today), history would indicate that vinny would look to make a move a la the Kendall & JT trades.

At least Levi is a FA. Since Zorn has said that they're going w/the guys they have now at RT, the question is who would get cut to make room? How much time do they give MW? Do they look at him as being able to play in , say week 8? He can't go on the practice squad.

That's about right. And I'd agree, I'd like to see it happen.

I really did not want to see Runyan in a Redskins uniform but at this point I don't know if we have a choice.

The alternative of counting on Heyer to get healthy, stay healthy and produce at the level we need for a whole season is much more scary to me.
