I understand the frustration. I'm to my breaking point with JC, but there's not one quarterback in this league who could look great behind this line, so you better address that as well. And if you want to spend a #1 pick on a QB and have him turn into David Carr behind this GD line, then you're going to be saying F Snead, Bradford, McCoy, Tebow, or Kolb in about 5 years too.
Ive been with JC for 4 years and he has not improved. The Oline we knew about last season and nothing was done. There is no way we give JC an extention, even when he has time in the pocket, he cannot make a play or it too scared to throw the ball. He has shown no leadership skills and no ability to make guys around him better. BYE BYE JC!! Like it or not he is gone, you seriously think Snyder is giving him mo money? I completely agree with building the Oline, I have been screaming it since last year. We need 3 new starters, get one through FA and try to get couple in the draft first and second rounds. Im saying F Snead and Bradford now. Kolb would be a thought. I would support Hasselbeck coming in here for a couple years over JC.

We might not have to give him a new deal for another season. With an uncapped year he won't become a UFA until year 5, same with Rogers.

We're going to at least have to give him some new legs then, option for a wheelchair.

Really didnt know that. Well he will be pretty decent backup.

This is year 5 for both of them, they were drafted in 05. I recall someone saying that both would be restricted fa's after this year.

Everything else you stated is pretty obvious. JC isn't going to come back here and if he does, he won't start. However, you didn't answer my question: How do you get those guys? Is Hasselbeck a free agent? I honestly don't know. Do you have faith he'll stay healthy behind this O Line?

How do you get Kolb? What does it take? What do you think it would take to acquire him? If it requires draft picks, wouldn't they be better spent on the O Line?

I'm asking because there will probably be a lot of guys cut this offseason that people on this board will turn up their noses at, but the Skins might consider. I honestly don't have an answer for what they should do. Since Campbell will likely not be a UFA because of the uncapped year, it might be wise to keep he and Colt around to compete next year with a totally rebuilt O Line. If that happens, people will piss and moan because they'll probably lose again, but they'll be in a much better position to grab a QB and hit the ground running in 2011.

I'm of the opinion that this team will need much more than one offseason to rebuild and compete again.

I think one thing people need to consider is "Is one more season of Jason Campbell worse than one more season of this offensive line?" If the answer is "No" you still try to get a FA QB, but you really can't trade for one unless you somehow find someone to give you picks for some of the garbage on this roster.

Sorry was out, yes agree more than 1 year to rebuild. Oline should be the first to receive attention in the rebuilding process. To your question of how to get a QB: Im not in favor of drafting one this coming up year, but I feel to effectively start a rebuilding process will be with to rid our offense of players who has leveled out, peaked, stagnated etc...whatever you want to call it over last several years starting with the guy who has the ball in his hands the most, JC. There will be vets availible and I prefer somebody else at this point. Some guys just need a change of scenery...JC may be that way as well...so while we both understand this offense may take a couple years, getting a vet or guy who hasnt succeeded (D. Anderson, Brady Quinn, etc.) to get under center I wouldnt see as taking a substantial risk (unless we give a stupid ass contract). I just cant deal with JC anymore, im officially done with him. But before we can get there we need a new GM and an established NFL coach.

This is where we disagree, but I can understand where you're coming from. I don't think the Skins should draft a QB high or trade picks for one. If there's a guy out there, go get him. However, if he's not proven, I would force him to compete with Colt and JC (who isn't a free agent under the new system).

I have no problem with replacing Jason with the future of the team or just a holdover to get us through rebuilding, but I'm not really in favor of change for the sake of change. I think that if you believe you can upgrade the QB position in the offseason without sacrificing anything, you have to do it, but I don't think you can go get Vince Young or a Jamarcus Russell type and think that everything is solved. If those are the options (they may be) then keeping JC and having him compete with Campbell might be the best option.

We could draft o-line in the 1st and 2nd rounds and then go QB in the 4th round. What do you think?

That sounds like the plan. Another scenario would be to trade down and also get a 3rd or 4th rounder.

I like the idea. We need a quality RB too. We need three different RBs, not three versions of CP.

This sounds good to me.

1st = OT
2nd = OG
4th = QB or RB
5th = C
6th = OG
7th = OT

It's a shame we're already talking about the draft. I don't see any Cs this year as good as Mack. If I were the GM, I'd trade Landry, Portis, and Moss for him.

This is actually what I would recommend, but would you install the 4th rounder immediately or do you have him sit a year? That's the big question. If you have him sit, one of Colt, Campbell, Collins, or a FA acquisition has to start next season.

I suppose it depends on how well he can grasp the offense in training camp. But, theoretically, we would need to keep someone else around to mind the store while the young guy matured.
