Agreed.

The common solution to the Landry dilemma, among fans, appears to be to push Horton and Doughty into backup roles while we play him at the non-premium strong safety position.

This would be taking the easy road out, I think, as we can scrap two of the players on the team we have the least investment in while trying to salvage a third. But to me, it's questionable whether Landry can even outplay either Horton or Doughty in the box.

So I say: he's physically gifted enough, let's keep him back there as a traditional coverage safety and just change the way he's supposed to be reading the offense. Whatever Blache/Gray/Jackson were doing, let's change it. If he can adapt and reach his potential, great. If not, I'd rather release him a year from now as opposed to try to work an extension with him as a strong safety.
