Yes, but next year will most likely come with a cap. A hard cap such as the one employed by the NFL is imperative not only in terms of parity but long term financial stability. I mean heck, the hard cap is the main reason Ted Leonis is able to say the NHL is more financially stable than the NBA with a straight face.
