Re: WP: Haynesworth will skip minicamp, wants trade

While I have zero respect for AH as a person, my intuition is in the long run he "wins" this feud, because as a player (in the right situation) his dominance cannot be denied.

Basically Albert will sit across from some FO group w/ a team really looking to win, and he'll convince them he is committed to being the best 4-3 DT in football for several more years. He'll get another huge contract. Period.

Here's why the Redskins lose. First, we won't get shit for Albert now. He knows this. His agent knows this. They also know he's still gonna get paid (as above). Second, we lost our best defensive player, and behind him it's just a whole series of big fat ?s, starting w/ our coaching staff and working all the way down the defensive roster. Shanny has made some awful coaching/personnel decisions, and they seem to be heavy on the defensive side. Haslett has never coached a dominant defense. More importantly it doesn't look like he's ever improved a unit. And in the end, we're still a completely untested 3-4 defense. Our secondary situation is shaky and now our DL situation is shaky because our one true 3-4 NT is coming off one of the worst possible injuries in football.

Fail.
