Re: WP: Haynesworth will skip minicamp, wants trade
well we might as well take a 4th. Im sure if we got a third, we'd just have to send it to New Orleans or Philly. I think we could work something out where we get a 4th in 2011 and a conditional pick as high as a 2nd in 2012 based on Haynesworth's performance for the Seahawks.
I wonder if we're not regretting moving him before/during the draft. We certainly could have gotten a 3rd for him (in a very deep draft). next years draft is reportedly the weakest in a long, long time. i'm not particularly excited about any picks there. to be honest, i'd rather trade haynesworth for a couple players.

Re: WP: Haynesworth will skip minicamp, wants trade
Haynesworth speaks:
Posted at 11:34 AM ET, 06/23/2010 Albert Haynesworth statement: 'I have always planned to attend training camp' Defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth released a statement today, making clear his intentions to participate in the Redskins training camp, which begins July 29. His statement read: "Despite my current differences with the Redskins, I have always planned to attend training camp and honor my contract. As I have previously said, I am continuing to prepare for the season individually and will report on time, in shape and ready to play football. Any issues I have with the club I will discuss privately and therefore do not plan to make any further public comments about this matter." Upset with the team's change in defensive philosophies and his presumed role in a 3-4 scheme, Haynesworth missed all but one day of the team's offseason conditioning programs, skipped the voluntary organized team activities and minicamp and last week opted against participating in the team's mandatory minicamp. The team fined him $10,000 for skipping the mandatory minicamp.

Hadn't he made a similar declaration about the mandatory minicamp? So why would this statement carry any weight?

The only thing carrying weight is Haynesworth himself

Of course he's going to show to camp, the greedy F'er doesn't want to lose out on all that $$. Hopefully he'll be traded by then. Get him the F outta here.

About how he will apologize to the fans and his team mates, and will become Shannahans new "favorite son", he will adapt and "embrace" his new role yada yada yada. Until a player puts his money where his mouth is and buys out his contract, trade demands are just hot air. |

Re: WP: Haynesworth will skip minicamp, wants trade
Well then why did you waste the time to do just that..? Kinda easy to be a sorry Wednesday afternoon QB after a tough loss.
Especially when it means absolutely nothing. This is Fat Al blowing more hot smoke (buying time) don't fool yourself or be so foolish. I'm sure they want his Fat ass outta there just as bad as he wants out. At the right price=give the money back. Quote:

Re: WP: Haynesworth will skip minicamp, wants trade
Really, how many times have disgruntled players gotten their way? I would hope most of us had assumed he'd show sooner or later unless another foolish team offered up a decent trade offer.

Re: WP: Haynesworth will skip minicamp, wants trade
AH and his team placed a bett that the Skins would fold. Shanny and Bruce called his bluff and he lost. It's better to lose 10k rather than 21mil which would be at stake.
This is a life lesson for AH and I'm glad this time we have a strong enough coaching/front office staff that didn't panic and didn't immediatly give in to his demands. I really hope the coaching staff and players give him hell in training camp. It's Boot Camp now ya Fat Bitch!!
