Miller, if your point is that Republicans, if united, can hold up any bill in the Senate, ok true enough. But, the Republicans have been a long fractured party, the New England Republicans are very liberal and most major bills could be passed just by minor modifications. If your point is that no business at all is getting done. Heck. That makes us less government types just jump for joy, unfortunately its just not the case. The government is still passing plenty of new laws and bills this year.

WASHINGTON — Republican Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts helped move sweeping financial legislation closer to passage Monday, announcing that after some misgivings he will support the regulatory overhaul after all.

Brown joins Sen. Susan Collins of Maine as two crucial Republican votes for the legislation.

Democratic leaders were still looking to secure the 60 votes needed to overcome procedural hurdles. They were awaiting word from Sens. Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, and Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, who supported an earlier Senate version of the bill.

3 of the 4 Republicans are from the New England region, I just don't understand why they don't just admit they are Democrats and move on.
