Not sure what you're basing that on exactly, but Fisher did everything he could to mentor and develop VY. I think he gave him more than enough opportunities to mature and step up as a team leader. At some point VY has to take responsibility and ownership of his career.

When VY had his suicide incident, it was Fisher out pounding the pavement looking for him. Sure doesn't sound like a uncaring guy to me.

I'm not saying VY doesn't have himself to blame for most, if not all, of his problems. But Fisher never really wanted him. I think its quite obvious.

He may not have wanted him initially, but I think he went above and beyond trying to develop him. In the end VY is just a headcase that would have the same issues whether he is with a coach that wants him or not.

I think Fisher tried his best to make it work, VY simply blew it on his end.

I don't beleive that. That's just one mans opinion. There's never been a question regarding Vince Youngs maturity until he was placed in a situation where the coach did not want him. I'll guarantee you that Vince Young will have no problems next season. And he didn't go above and beyond trying to develop him after benching him after 2 seasons. Now Alex Smith, that's one person where the coaches went above and beyond (7 years) trying to develop him into an NFL QB.

Young's skill set does not match what's needed to be a successful pro QB.

So all of his problems to date can be attributed to Fisher not wanting to draft him?

Doesn't that thought alone kinda scream maturity issue?
