Re: Redskins Offensive Outlook
I like this offseason a whole lot more than years past, because instead of bringing in a whole new offense or defense we're just adding flavor to what we've already got. I agree, the offense will only be as good as the offensive line but the o-line is quickly shaping up to be an area of strength after so many years of it being a primary weakness.
I did bemoan passing on Mike Williams, but I think we should be much improved this season. I love the low power rankings we've gotten so far, lots of folks are sleeping on the Skins but I think the NFC East is going to be the best division in football next season. |

Re: Redskins Offensive Outlook
And maybe people feel the Skins O-line is one of the more dominant ones in the league...

Re: Redskins Offensive Outlook
good article.............COOLEY, COOLEY, COOLEY............
I agree about our line, little concerned about our smallish receivers, the pressure is on Ramsey, hopefully the improved line will help ..........And I'm confident Gibbs will open up the offense and won't play so conservative..........

Re: Redskins Offensive Outlook
Cooley was definitely like a black hole for the pigskin. If the ball was anywhere near him, he CAUGHT it and hung on to it.

Re: Redskins Offensive Outlook
A: H-Back and Tight End are two entirely different positions.
Cooley, Sellers= H-Back, Royal, Baber=TE B: Blocking TE= Dead give away This is exactly why I`m hoping Royal can improve his blocking skills and become what the team really needs, an every down TE. Rotating in an obvious " blocker " is only going to help opposing D`s. Predictabilty will get you killed in the NFL and we know this. C: Heath Miller= VA native, Soft hands and 13 time all ACC offensive lineman of the week. Damn I was hoping the Skins would draft that guy! |

Re: Redskins Offensive Outlook
In the 2004 offseason, Betts might have been more attractive - he might have gotten us a low 2nd rounder or high 3rd rounder (after all, I think Lamar Gordon got the 'Fins a 4th rounder). Now, the guy isn't worth squat and it's highly unlikely he'd challenge any teams' starter.
