Re: What is the 2nd overall pick worth?
I actually read, a long time ago, that the possibility of us offering them cash as part of the trade. I'm not even sure if this is legal in the NFL; or where I read it... but that could be interesting too.

I think you can only trade picks, players, and coaches. Cash is only the NBA (and maybe MLB too).

Ok, it's like trying to buy a Mustang at a Ford GT price, with the same faults. You don't like either Chevy or Ford? Ok I'll try again.... I'm sorry Dodge just sucks I can't. ![]() How about a Farrari? Since some of you want to associate him with a really expensive sports car.... Your trying to purchase a Farrari and the guy selling it wants Lamborghini type money. ... with all those issue's with the car. |

I'll agree with one thing as someone else has said... I think everyone is soo sick and tired that they just want the team to spend whatever it takes to get a top quality QB. To say it has to be RGIII would be biased. but some people are biased. |

I happen to think the Eli Manning deal would be "fair" for RG3. Of course, you're gambling on Tannehill either 1) not being there at no. 6 or 2) not being much of a quarterback if you pull the trigger on RG3.

Is McCoy the arm and Shipley the leg? Cleverly played, my friend

Re: What is the 2nd overall pick worth?
If you value RG3 as the first overall pick in a normal draft (available at 2nd overall b/c only of Andrew Luck), then he's worth the 6th pick, the 2013 first round pick, a 4th rounder in 2012, and one of the team's two 6th round picks in 2012.
Which is just a bit less than the price established in the Eli Manning trade.

Whatever leverage the Rams have here, they are going to need to create for themselves.

Re: What is the 2nd overall pick worth?
thats why i think the rams with try to play the 3 teams linked or some other unknown team trying to trading for the #2 pick against each other right now to drive up the price. i also believe they will want to get a trade down before the draft so they are guaranteed to get something for the #2 pick, because they could run the risk of teams not dealing with them anymore and going to the vikings.

Re: What is the 2nd overall pick worth?
Everything you say makes sense in theory but the Redskins don't really have the luxury to call someones bluff and be wrong. If this was year #1 for Shanny & Allen I would agree with you, but they are going into year #3 and MUST not get left out of the QB carousel. They can't afford to be sitting in Redskins park on April 28th going oh shucks I guess the Rams were serious about needing another pick to close this deal. I think the one thing that we are pretty sure of the last week is that RG3 is their #1 QB option. Isn't it about time they stop settling?
