Re: Out of state Redskins fan rant….Parental Guidance Suggested
Since this is a rant thread, i've got one. Now, i've gone on record as saying i dont think Griffin shouldn't have been playing to begin with the past few weeks because of injury he suffered against Baltimore. My position is, and has been, that if he has to play with a brace, he wasnt healthy enough to play...
My question is this - at what point did we all become a bunch of wusses? (i want to use another word, but i think i'd end up offending someone, disclaimer in the thread title or not). Seriously. Ronnie Lott - he was going to miss start of the season due to a finger injury, so he told the doctors to cut it off - and they did. We dont criticize him, the coaches, or the doctors, but revere him as one of the greatest safeties of all time. Brett Farve played through just about every injury possible – and he’s considered a hero for it. Just days before the 2008 AFC Championship game, Phillip Rivers had surgery on his right knee. His right ACL was TOTALLY GONE during the game (he allegedly tore it in the divisional round the week before), and he had to get another surgery after the game that put him out six months. I don’t recall Rivers or Turner taking the kind of crap RGIII and Shanahan are taking now, in an extremely similar situation, so what gives? For the past month, Dez Bryant played with a fractured finger that many said should have ended his season, but he played through it and no one questions him or Garrett for doing so. Romo and vick have both worn kevlar jackets because they were playing with broken ribs and/or punctured lungs. Think about that. punctured freaking lungs. Earlier this year, Jason Witten played with a freaking lacerated spleen – a potentially life threatening injury – had he suffered further damage during the game, and he’s praised for his toughness. It could have freaking KILLED HIM. Byron Leftwich played the 2nd half of a game with a broken ankle. T.O. played in a superbowl with a broken ankle McNabb played with a broken leg. All these guys are “tough,” but Shanahan and RGIII are stupid and irresponsible? Why now, all of a sudden, have we turned into a bunch of wusses? Or is it just that we’re whiney little b----es that just like to complain?

I think Kurt Warner hinted as saying pretty much the same thing, but in the end, he supported the idea that you have your leaders/best players in the game, especially with it being a playoff game.

1 I don't give a shit if those guys play/played hurt or not. Never did. 2 We have never had a QB of this caliber uh....ever. I'd like to keep him around for awhile. 3 He was hurt to the point of being completely ineffective after the first quarter. We have a capable backup who we didn't put in until the end of the 4th quarter and we lost the game. Bonus - I don't have a wussie bone in my body.

I'll give my rant. Forgot to tell my builder I want one of those cheap utility sinks in my garage so now I had to put in a change order to get a price. The plummer came back and said it would cost an additional $1,250 to install the sink. The sink only cost $100 so he is saying it cost another $1,150 to run the pluming 10 feet. F&^k You Mr Plummer man. I'll do it myself.

Re: Out of state Redskins fan rant….Parental Guidance Suggested
One of the more annoying aspects of what's to come as a result of the RG3 injury is having to listen to dozens of ill informed, dimwitted, loudmouth "NFL analysts' talk about the injury, his recovery and future implications. For example, Monday I'm driving around and Jonathan Coachman & Hugh Douglas (both of whom fit perfectly into the ill informed, dimwit, loudmouth category) are talking about the RG3 injury. They both said versions of 'as a result of this, he may miss most of the 2013 season and may be injured for his entire career and we will never know what could have been.' Really? It's a f*%#ing knee injury, not a leg amputation! I actually got into a mild back and forth with Douglas on Twitter and he admitted that he gets paid to speculate on those things. So you get paid to spout ill informed, made up bullsh*t, well done.
Then I see later some DC radio talking head said that "just to be safe" the Redskins shouldn't bring him back AT ALL in 2013 and let him be fully healthy in 2014 for the future. That would be 21 months for a 8 month injury. This stuff drives me nuts because I have a very low tolerance threshold for idiots. I'm going to have to disconnect from all of the offseason stuff regarding the Redskins (free agency, draft, schedule, leading up to training camp) because I can't take listening to people who either don't know what the F they are talking about or those who say things for the sake of speculative conversation.

The problem is there's people out there that get paid to talk, and they love to stir the pot and create hysteria amongst the masses. No matter when RG3 comes back, there will be those questioning whether it's too early. Facts be damned, shit sells. |

Is it just me or is it pissing anyone else off that the 49ers are running our offense? I know the connection with Kaepernick and that offense and all, but just thinking what could have been if RG3 was healthy is frustrating as a fan.

I hate to make this comparison, but I see RGIII having a career similar to Vicks - he's electric when he plays, but you always have to worry about his health and availability. Kaepernick and Wilson have similar styles of play, but, so far, have proven a much better ability to avoid injury. Hopefully, RGIII will watch how they avoid hits and learn something.
