To everyone, I love this site, without it out here in Cali I'd be so much more depressed.

Even if I don't agree with you on a specific topic, you all make being a Skins fan more enjoyable.

At the end of the days, regardless of opinions/strategy, we all just want to win. Httr.
Yea I love this site cause living in Vegas and working in Cali i get to vent to other diehard Redskins fans. You all understand my pain. I do have Raider fans i see from time 2 time and we understand each other.

Re: Giants Post Game Reactions

Fans only consider committing to the run as running on every down, every play.

The split was almost 50/50 run to pass in the first half. That's not bad considering we couldn't get any short fields or turnovers. While trailing by 2 scores most the game.

Gruden wants to commit to the run, but any logical person could tell last night that wasn't going to happen for very long. We lost our starting LG. Rib was getting destroyed all night.

No Turnovers
Trailing by two scores for 90% of the game
Lost starting LG.
Facing the #3 ranked run defense and 31st pass defense
Lost time of possession
Only had 2 days of practice.
Penalties

Also... Our BEST starting field position of the night was the 28 yard line. Think about that. Think about it hard. We can't afford to run the ball 25 times a game and run off 12 minutes of the clock on a drive when we have to go 80 yards every drive while down by NOT 1, but 2 scores.

Oh and did I mention our defense couldn't get off the field? The first drive of the 3rd Quarter took 8 minutes off the clock. 8 fucking minutes! Still down by two scores I might add.

So no... We couldn't afford to run 50 times yesterday because we didn't do the things needed by the rest of the fucking TEAM. To be able to run the football.

I'm more pissed about why we are only rushing 4 down while having our DB play 8 yards off the line. Makes no sense. Eli just played catch with his WR down the field eating clock. I believe he started the game 10/10!!! Barry made no fucking adjustment. Even when Breeland was struggling. Breeland was targeted last night for 9 catches and 160yards!!!!!! Yet you don't play to Culliver and Breeland strength and jam the WR because you are protecting your safeties. I just think it's going to be a long season for the Defense if we can't seem to get pressure with 4. Or if we play like we did last night.

So please... Stop with the commitment to the run bullshit. You can't do it when you can't get off the field as a defense, and force shorter fields while down 2 or more scores.

I was actually impressed that the coaches gameplanning on a short week to exploit the Giants weakness which is the secondary. It just sucks Kirk had a bad game and couldn't hit a few throws that should of been touchdowns. He makes 1 or those throws and you see the running numbers a little higher.

I love it when the response to a post is hyperbole. I love how "commitment to run" is bullshit.

We didn't start the game down 2 scores. You don't have to stop running even if you're down 2 scores. Running the ball actually helps an OL. Running the ball actually helps the defense. You can be happy with a gameplan that gives the team's best weapon on offense 6 carries, I'm not.

My reaction - Starting with poor field possession, we went steadily downhill. The game was over from the beginning. Injuries galore and poor play - looks like this will be another stinko year. There have been so many bad years. When will this nightmare end?

Re: Giants Post Game Reactions

i do think we stopped trying to run too early last game. you can be down 9 points and still run when there's 45 minutes left in the game. I don't know if they moved off it cause of the gameplan/giants D, because of the OL injuries, because of audibles at the line taking them out of run plays, or because J felt like chucking it. it's hard to tell from the outside.

So stop running them if we can't execute them...it's not hard. That penalty killed a drive and lead directly to the blocked punt.

If it was possible to get an absolute guarantee that Goff wouldn't get hurt more than the average qb, then he is heads and shoulders the best qb in the class. But he is small and will get blasted in the NFL.

All you need to do is pass it when the opponent is expecting run, and run when they're expecting pass. And you should be able to know this 100% of the time, obviously.

Player's don't matter. Its not Cousins fault he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn against Giants.

We lost because their players played better than ours. The offense had plenty of chances w/ the plays that were called.

So where did J fail you ask?

(1) gameplan....IF our identity is gonna be run focused then we actually need to commit to running the ball. Against the Giants we did not. We did not follow the gameplan that brought success vs the Rams. We followed a gameplan where Kirk was asked to pass the ball too much, thus placing Kirk in position to fail...which he did. Our strength right now is not the passing but the running game....the OL Trent, Scherff, Moses, Alf and Matt Jones.

(2) Personnel and prep punt return unit. The Gints identified a weakness in our punt protection and exploited it. J had a newly active LB (Plummer) in a key position on punt protect and he failed.

(3) Refusal to run the ball on 3rd and 2. Going deep on 3rd and 2. Inefficient.

(4) On a key short yardage conversion attempt using Carrier (who we know is not a proven run blocker) to block the POA as opposed to McCoy (a known effective run blocker).

(5) Targeting Roberts, known to have drop issues last year and displayed those same issues already...Parcells? I believe said think players not plays when it comes to key situations...i.e

I could go on but its late i'm tired but you get the idea....I am not saying the whole game was on J. But since YOU asked for areas where he failed there are some.

I almost broke my own cardinal rule never to get into an argument with you. Let's just say that saying "I am not saying the whole game was on J." is disingenuous. Those that are here regularly know better...

You've worn us out, even when we might be inclined to agree with you we can't get ourselves to do so because we don't want to be in the middle of one of your self righteous tirades. Sometimes it's better to just let it go, dude...

Oh boy, I can't believe I said all that.

1. 8 in the box all night long. Believe it or not the other team gets a say in what works.

2. A newly signed back up linebacker missing a block on a punt being on the head coach is the craziest thing I've ever read. (I'm not convinced you're serious) NFL teams have two dozen coaches so head coaches don't have to deal with coaching back up LBs on punt block teams.

3. Plays are called to exploit situations. The Giants had been stuffing Alf and Jones all night because they were playing 8 in the box on run downs. Their dbs were playing tight and were setting themselves up for a burn. No problem with a play call that exploits the situation.

4. McCoy played 3 snaps the whole game. Too funny.

5. When McVay relayed the play into Kirk, I'm sure he said "Jay said hit Roberts" Kirk was off all night long. His completed passes were off.

Nothing with missing Lav on the first series.

We didn't abandon the run. The fair weather fans will say we did. The logical fans who understand the game on a NFL level will realize we passed because we were down 2 scores all game.

When u throw in the fact that the Giants after two weeks were dead last against the pass and number one against the run it becomes pretty freaking simple. Even though KC has never ever ever ever hit an open wr 30 yards away and so Gruden is a dumbass for expecting him to do so. LOL
My God did he have ample time and wide open guys. It was pretty obvious why the Giants were dead last against the pass. Too bad he couldnt take advantage. He simply played like dogshit. RG-3 or Colt would not have probably faired any better. Might be a long year if he dont tighten the screws.
