F... Selling Tickets to the Visiting Team

There were way too many terrible towels, it sickens me that it was a home game, where we seemed like the road team.

Because, as a die hard Skins fan, the opportunity for season tix was too good to pass up. The first season I had them I was in the LAST ROW of the upper bowl. The seats were less expensive then, I didn't have kids and my disposable income was greater. Each year our seats have crept forward (and become more expensive) as better seats became available. After several years, the seats are now in the 15th Row of the lower bowl. I am trying to hold onto them through these lean years until I can, again, actually afford to go to the games. If I skip a year, not only do I lose the lower bowl seats, I go to the back of the waiting list.

I don't buy them them to sell them - I buy them them now and so that I can enjoy them in the future when I can take my kids to games. When I could afford them, I went to every home game - usually I would invite a friend for whom I would eat the cost of their ticket. Hopefully, in the future, I again will be ablle to do that.

So - can I put you down for the $2,200 due next year? How about you 411? You guys gonna pony up the dough so that I can hold onto these seats I have invested time and money into? No? Shocking. Guess I'll have to find some other way to do that.

So your telling people to give up their season tickets so they can buy them from someone else who has season tickets? There will always be tickets to buy no matter who has the season tickets so that does not solve anything. You think all season ticket holders are going to go to all home games and eat any game they don't attend? If that was the case then places like Stubhud and these travle companies would be ot of business.

I already have tickets and I make an effort to go to all of the games. I don't need your tickets. You have nice seats. Give me rights to your lower bowl seats and I will gladly give you rights to my upper deck seats.

I think something else people dont realize is that depending where the seats are in the level means they can cost more. For example club level seats at the 50 cost more than club level seats at the 10.

I've never made the commitment to buy a full seasons' worth of tickets for all of the reasons you stated. I know that I can't afford either the time or the money to make all/most home games. So I don't, I just pick them up on Stub or Craigslist when I get the chance. And, by the way, I must have missed you offering them on here as I would have been more than happy to take them off of your hands for this game. I actually had a post up for the past month and a half looking for tickets to this game that weren't jacked up beyond reason.

I'm currently in the last row of the upper bowl, and if we decide to renew, I want to stay there. Those seats are money. We are right in the shade for the early games, I can stand up the whole time without anyone bothering me...unless I'm going down to another level, I wanna stay put.

Bingo. I'd like to attend every home game. This year I've only missed the Cards game, and I am hopeful *fingers crossed* I can make it to every other home game. What I would never do is go on to craigslist or stubhub for every single home game I am able to go to, go through the hassle of finding and buying tickets in random seats at varying prices, then having to secure a parking pass. I don't understand why you think it is such a bad thing to own season tickets and sell them when you cannot attend? Again, this whole issue is mitigated if Skins fans WANT to go to the game, and do what it takes to do so.

If I offended anyone last night, I apologize. The sight of all those Steeler fans in our house combined with the frustration of seeing the offense, once again, failing to try to go deep, at least until the end of the game, was more than I could handle at that moment. Just like BleedBurgundy, I don't understand why people buy tickets and then justify selling them to the other team because they can't afford them. I don't have season tickets and never have because....I can't afford them and the way I understand it, there's a long, long waiting list. I go to StubHub for a particular game I want, and can afford to see. Maybe the problem is I don't understand the deal with season tickets because I've never had one. But to imply that I, or any other fan, should buy your ticket because you bought it but can't afford it seems silly to me. Anyway, just like the election today, we all have differences of opinion, but what brings us all together is our love for the Redskins and I would rather concentrate on what brings us together instead of what separates us. Exactly. I mean I understand peoples point if people are buying season tickets soley based on the reasons of selling them for a huge profit. But if a fan can't make it, I dont understand what the issue is. Its not like its a 5 dollar ticket, you're just going to give away a bunch of 70.00 tickets?

Like I stated here its an issue that all stadiums have and last night more Stealer fans wanted the tickets more than the Redskins fans.

I didn't post them for this game, I sold them as a block. I can't afford to carry the debt for that period of time. Plus, being strapped economically, I had no idea whether the Skins what the demand for Skins tix would be in April and couldn't take the economic risk.

"Jacked up beyond reason"? Sorry - in your opinion, season tix holders trying to hold onto their seats from year to year should absorb the market losses for games where there is no interest AND THEN sell at below market value for those not willing to make the commitment early. Why do I owe this to you or anyone else? I made my choices by balancing my family's needs, my desire to supporrt the team and the economics of the situation. I would suggest many season tix holders are faced with the same dilemmas.

This is part and parcel of why I am trying to hold onto my seats now and not take too much of loss on them. At some point, I will be able to afford them.
When I can, my losses on the tix through these years will be rewarded by having the abiltiy to afford going to games in great seats at a reasonable cost. I am buying early so that in the future I can pay a lower cost. THAT's why I am making the commitment. If you have a better plan, I would love to hear it. If the economics of the situation upset you, sorry. Reality bites sometimes.

Prior to the season you could have had these seats or seats to the Dallas game at cost or slightly above. You chose to wait, you chose to leave the seats available to others. It's all part of the deal. It's a market and you made your choices, and I made mine, by balancing our differet interests. Sorry if you can't understand mine.

Do I wish I had the time and money to go to every game? Yup. Is that ever going to be a reality again? Probably not. Should I just let go of my season tix b/c I can't conform to desires of others? I don't think so. Does this make me less of a fan or a D-bag? Again, I don't think so. I am doing the best I can in situation I am in.
