Re: Gibbs Press Conference:

Didn't he say after the game that Mark Brunell had an awesome game? I don't think he would bench him after saying that.

He clearly said he would not be benching Brunell from what I heard.

Anyone hoping for a Brunell benching is getting their hopes up. Campbell will not touch the field until they are eliminated from the playoffs (barring injury).

Re: Gibbs Press Conference:

One of the things Gbbs said when asked about the offseason changes to the decision making structure, especially about Al Saunders:
"You can't go back in life... we put a lot of thought into that... sometimes in life you don't get what you want... but to me, you can't go back. I think those decisions were made the right way; they were made for the right reasons..."
He does say around this part that he thinks Al can "help" the team, but it sure seems vague and not like a vote of confidence to me.

Doesn't it mean something very significant that he didn't say it was the right decision to have Saunders make the play calls... only that the decision was made the right WAY, and for the right REASONS; but he didn't say it was RIGHT. Big difference!!
Thoughts?

Deciphering his quotes are like reading tea leaves. I don't know how they can blame Al when they gave him a QB who can't throw the ball. Give him Trent Green, then decide if it is his fault.

Green and Brunell are the same damn player. One just has a concussion. And the other throws with his left hand. But not in a Jake Plummer sort of way.

That's the most viciously I have ever heard Gibbs assess anyone! Not good....

I really didn't get that from his press confrence but I may not have picked up on it either, but all I can say is if Gibbs is knocking Saunders after the way the offense has performed over the last 2 years I have to laugh, he must think it's still 91' We barely made the playoffs and the fact that we did had nothing to do with our offense it was our defense that kept us in games and then carried us into the playoffs and into the second round.

Gibbs just can't admit his rolex is fake.

We finished the season last year scoring 24, 17, 35, 35, and 31 points. We had problems on offense, sure, but I think Santana Moss and Clinton Portis played at least a small role our run to the playoffs.

Re: Gibbs Press Conference:

How bad must Jason Campbell be in the meetings and on the practice field and how damaging is this for his confidence that he can't get in the game. I figure it's not too far away now for him to get in there because the booing is about to get really harsh, but I think 99.9% of anyone who covers football in any way is wondering why Gibbs is sticking with brunell. It makes no sense anymore. It's just so darn confusing? No way Brunell makes it past Philly twice, Dallas, Carolina, Atlanta, Tampa. There is no way.

Mark didn't play a bad game in my opinion. But as always, benching the quarterback helps the defense play better. Yeah...that makes sense.

That has to be the most ridiculous and idiotic statement ever. We want Brunell benched because he is not the future, and because it seems he cannot throw more than 5 yards. If we let Jason Campbell play the last nine games, he has great chance of improving, especially with the challenging teams coming up. The defense is less complicated to fix (just change up the DB's in the Offseason). Lets face it, this season is in the toilet, no miracle runs to the playoffs this year. Might as well invest the remaining nine games in the future, which is clearly Jason Campbell.
