Question about Coach Zorn
my question might have already been addressed, but if it has been I can't find it. before asking let me state this:
I am a 30+year skins fan and a big zorn fan. I think he is doing a good job. He is presently 4th on the list for wins by a rookie head coach in redskin franchise history, the #1 spot is held by George Allen with 9, that certainly seems to be in reach. Also it should be noted that no rookie redskin head coach has ever swept the cowboys, and that continues. that being said, Coach Zorn looked most of the game like he was gonna Hurl. and then in the postgame locker room comments he looked half dead. Any talk of him being sick, fighting a bug of some sort, or is the wear and tear of the season starting to catch up with him?

Re: Question about Coach Zorn
I think just about everyone who cares about the Redskins looked like they were ready to blow chunks the whole game. I know I did.

Re: Question about Coach Zorn
My biggest fear is seeing Jim Zorn suffering a heart attack. I have seen few coaches (at least head coaches) that are as intense as Zorn when it comes to game day.

Re: Question about Coach Zorn
I think that Zorn's discouraged and frustrated by the lack of execution on offense. I don't believe that there's anything going on with him from a physical standpoint.

Re: Question about Coach Zorn
well people do get sick this time of year and the flu doesnt care if your a head coach or a bag boy at safeway.
who knows really, i didnt notice anything to suggest he was sick thoo . . not that a healthy zorn would have changed anything, we got flat out coached last night on both sides of the ball. the boys made it a point to attack the outside in the run game to exploit j taylor and carter and brought the house on D exploiting our weak blitz pick up. we in turn had no discernable game plan or attack. the boys used their bye week and really seemed to have a game plan they developed around our weaknesses and their limitations (romo with cast on hand doesnt allow them to toss it long). second week in a row our coaches got out coached and failed to make adjustments. go skins!! |

Re: Question about Coach Zorn
The play-calling was deplorable. Zorn went away from the running game in the second half of the game and it cost this team a win. How many hitch passes will Campbell throw to Moss and not gain a first down? Mike Sellers should have been used more in this game. Zorn seems to be calling plays that were so conservative and predictable that it made Dallas's defense look like the Steelers. One draw here, one deep pass there and now were 6-4. Malcolm Kelly and Fred Davis need to be injected into this offense. I don't care how far Zorn says Kelly is behind. Put him in and allow him to get the feel for the game. If the play-calling doesn't change, we can kiss the playoffs good bye.

Re: Question about Coach Zorn
My beef is the Redskins played with very little intensity. They played like the old Redskins, not the team from the second game up until the Steelers debacle. The defense has always looked good except for dropped balls that should have been interceptions. But we still have trouble getting the ball into the end zone (obviously!).
