Fitz behind a good line, which we should have, is a huge upgrade over Haskins/Smith. And now add in the threat of Samuels, and it is easy to understand the hype. ![]() Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Lots of other teams' coaches would love to have this type of so-called "self-inflicted roster issue". This is what building teams do - bring in bunches of players to compete and let their performances decide the roster spots. I like this situation.

@NickiJhabvala
The Washington Football Team had 76 players attend the start of Phase 2 of the offseason program today. Every player, including those who didn't attend, communicated their intentions with Coach Ron Rivera beforehand, and he stressed that the workouts are voluntary. Glad to see this, and this would be 76 out of 90 players.

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
19. RYAN FITZPATRICK, WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM
Fitzpatrick continues to play his best football the longer he stays in the league — the veteran ranks 15th in PFF passing grade since 2018. Last year in Miami, he had the team rolling until Brian Flores took the QB room for a rollercoaster ride. It's rare for a veteran quarterback “placeholder” to join a solid football team, but this will be the best team Fitzpatrick has been on in quite some time. Fitzpatrick brings energy, leadership and a wealth of knowledge to a locker room, but his Achilles heel is protecting the football. If he is able to play smart and deliver on explosive plays, Washington will be a playoff contender.

Protecting the football will be critical for Fitz for his career he averages just over 1 int per game (1.16), In Miami the last 2 years he averaged, 1.05 ints/game and 1.65 td's/game. Even that should be a winning formula with our defense, but if he has time behind our line and can cut it down, I would hope we see a better split. Just be ready for a few interceptions next season. |

we wouldnt have to add 3 vet free agent LTs over the past 2 years (lucas, sharpe, leno) if Christian (3R) or Charles (4R) panned out. We wouldnt have had to add Flowers if Martin (4R) had panned out. Charles should have a roster spot this year but it doesnt scream confidence that the team signed Leno, drafted Cosmi (2R) and added Flowers when we had Schweitzer and Scherff. Thats a 3rd and two 4th rounders that didnt claim a starting roster spot. We have a glut bc the draftees didnt pan out and the FO wants to compete now and not hope guys develop. |

@RapSheet
The Washington Football Team is likely moving on from long-time starting OT Morgan Moses, sources say, giving Moses the ability to seek a trade. Moses is due $7.75M in 2021 and if a team trades for the dependable player, it picks up the salary. |

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Makes sense to why the OL depth has amped up lately

I guess we know why we've been collecting tackles

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Not sure I understand the Moses move. I thought possible next year. He’s not making a ton of $$ and Washington is already well under the salary cap. Let’s be clear though - once the “find a trade or we will release you” is out there, he’s not coming back.

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
If they just release him .... i just dont understand. Its like our FO thinks they have to be 15M under the cap every year.
This is big news. |

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Hard to imagine someone wouldn't want him, we could even pick up half his salary to sweeten the deal. Wonder what we could get, maybe a 5th at best?

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
I like our OLine depth. I'll like it a lot less after moving on from him.
Looks like Leno and Lucas will both start. Cosmi as swing tackle. Hopefully Charles can get training at tackle and guard. I'll reserve judgment until after we see what compensation we get and what we use the extra money on.

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Huh??? I do not understand this move one bit. You pay Schreff 17 mill or whatever yet you want to cut Moses who is a tackle and makes way less? Moses was pretty solid last year. What are they thinking on this one? Why are you cutting your starting RT who is making under 8 million??
