Post Game Comments, And Then Some!
The post game on comcast with B mitch and co. was pretty funny, B mitch was ripping both Brunell and particular AA, he really ripped AA a new one, and blamed the coaches for all our latest signings, he also hinted that Williams didn't want AA, and that the knock on AA was that he can't cover, and if you can't cover you can't play saftey.
Czaban really ripped Gibbs with his post game press confrence when in the middle of this defeat Gibbs basically turns about and starts to apologize for not acknowledging the fans who showed up at skins park to see the bus off, Gibbs let them all know he was going to give them all something when he got back, Czaban had a field day with that one, he then began to point out the continued catch phrases and cliches as we have grown so accustomed to hearing, fighting our guts out, a great bunch of guy's, we fought hard, etc. and so on. He then stated that Gibbs remains delusional in his defense of Brunell. B mitch backed that up with saying there will be no changes in the next 2 weeks Gibbs has already started with a counter attack with any kind of QB change. Bottom line I believe Gibbs is more concerned with building a congergation than a football team, in which he has no clue as to how to build a football team, his ability to evaluate talent is right up there with the guy sitting in the last seat at the top of the stadium seeing a game for the first time after he's had 10 or 12 cold ones. If we are to believe that all this isn't Brunells fault then it can only be one other facet of our team and that's the O-line, and if thats the case then why hasen't he identified it and at least made attempts to fix it, rather than throwing away picks on everyone elses stars, Gibbs has Steinbrenner syndrome he is alway's looking at the flashy positions and never at the core, and he alway's has to have what everyone else has, instead of showing some insight and finding those type players in the draft. Now here's the really scary problem that I have a feeling is going to rear it's ugly head, what if Gibbs same dilusions with Brunell come to roost with Campbell? Perhaps Campbell was no better than a late second round project as all the experts had projected until Gibbs turned him into a superstar in his own mind, just like Brunell? It's as if Gibbs has to give up the farm for a player he could have for much less to over emphesize that players ability that only he can see. I can't wait to see how much better Campbell will be than other young QB's who have been playing while he sits? I wonder if Gibbs plans on playing him at QB, or at some point will have him splitting the atom. Either way I feel the unvailing of Campbell will be likened to the unvailing of the titanic, and he will have about as much success as well. With all that said I really am looking forward to seeing him play becuase Brunell is already at the bottom of the ocean. |
