F_ck Schlereth $17,000 and 2nd half is enough punishment for spit wtf......... but on a side note that ref did a terrific job difusing that situation and calming things....
The REF allowed an ASSAULT to go unpunished. period
Retalliation [ A SLAP] is a Penalty too if I read my NFL Rule Book Correctly

I agreed 100% with the ref ..he spit in the mans face... he should have been given 30 yards.... retaliate damn...... like he said what would you do... and not 1 player or gibbs said a damn thing when the ref told them what happened... it was a vile discusting act...just sickening ....he acted like a thug

**I know there's a thread for the spitting, but it's too long and I doubt people read thru it anymore.
Sean Taylor could have completely decked Michael Pittman, but instead he simply spit. No possible injury.
Michael Pittman could have hurt ST with the punch he threw, but nobody talks about that.
Everybody needs to wake the **** up. Spitting is harmless.

Depends on how you classify harmless. I dont't think it would physically harm Pittman, but damn it sure is degrading and 100% disrespectful.

I tend to agree. I don't care about social standards and all that stupid crap about how getting spit on hurts your feelings and hurts your pride. One act does bodily harm, the other is merely disrespectful.
I know one thing. If Sean Taylor stood before me, in a game or otherwise, and gave me a choice of being spat on or getting whacked under my facemask, I'll take the loog thanks.

well i think there would be the same punishment or worse if he was to "physically harm" pittman so i guess the league feels the same way.

i think i would rather get hit in the head while wearing a helmet then get spit on
sean taylor spitting was a lot worse than pittman hitting him in the head
