Nice to see some others leading the spending spree for a change. And no deals yet with the bronco's . They seem to always get the better end of the deal.

If he was infact waiting for his payday, then he got it. I just wish we could have kept him thats all. I think my posts get misinterpritted. I would never pay a guy (unproven guy) that much money. I just felt, like I have said before, we overpay for a lot of outside guys, it would be nice to overpay for one of our own, to keep him here. Now, having said that, not to the extent the bills paid. maybe dockery didn't want to be here no matter what and I tend to go with that philosphy right now, and nothing would have kept him here. But, dont you agree that we have let certain players leave that should have stayed to overpay for the FA, the outside guy. But, it does take two to get an agreement done and I know that. So, point is, we have to fill the hole with another FA because we dont have any picks. I just hope who ever fills that hole isn't a swinging door. Yup. Nicely said (all of it, not just the bolded part - I just happen to agree with that statement in particular). EXoffender 03-05-2007, 10:18 AM Our line and our coaches, made Dockery. It's good that another team overpaid and not us. RedskinPete 03-05-2007, 10:44 AM I agree. no way we should have signed him to that deal. I agee with everyone that has said that. I don't wanted to over pay for anything not a car a home or a computer. I hope Danny would feel the same way. I may be wrong but excecpt for Antonio Pierce what other passed Redskin in the last eight years have we let get away that we should have over payed? Just a side note Pierce wasn't even drafted by the Skins in o1 he was a free agent pick up out of college! Here is a list of our own that we have drafted Jansen[99],Samuels[00],Smoot[01],Betts[02],Cartwright[02],Dockery[03],Taylor[04],Cooley[04],Campbell[05],Rogers[05],Mcintosh[06] and Golston[06]. Other then Arrington and Bailey both who didn't wanted to be here. So who should have we over payed to stay? That Guy 03-05-2007, 11:30 AM well, we should have paid champ over lavar, that was a huge mistake by the danny. samuels was overpaid (cause the dan thought he was asking too much, then walter jones got a new deal and lds had to pay a lot more. it doesn't pay to wait on extending guys too often :/. ) CHIEF CHUCKING MY SPEAR 03-05-2007, 06:21 PM well he said he would have signed during the season but the skins didnt give them there number. I think if we gave him around with a 8 to 10 million before he hit the martket he would have stayed. Too late now. He said they did offer him a 3 yrs 12 million on the brian mitchell show today. SmootSmack 03-05-2007, 07:00 PM well he said he would have signed during the season but the skins didnt give them there number. I think if we gave him around with a 8 to 10 million before he hit the martket he would have stayed. Too late now. He said they did offer him a 3 yrs 12 million on the brian mitchell show today. I listened to the interview online http://a1135.g.akamai.net/f/1135/18227/1h/cchannel.download.akamai.com/18227/podcast/WASHINGTON-DC/WTEM-AM/03-05-07%20bm%20derrick%20dockery.mp3?CPROG=PCAST&MARKET=WASHINGTON-DC&NG_FORMAT=sportstalk&SITE_ID=1265&STATION_ID=WTEM-AM&PCAST_AUTHOR=SportsTalk_980&PCAST_CAT=Sports&PCAST_TITLE=The_Brian_Mitchell_Show and I didn't hear any mention at all of 3 years 12 million. That Guy 03-06-2007, 01:35 AM well he said he would have signed during the season but the skins didnt give them there number. I think if we gave him around with a 8 to 10 million before he hit the martket he would have stayed. Too late now. He said they did offer him a 3 yrs 12 million on the brian mitchell show today. that is blatantly wrong. he was offered money but he and his agent didn't want to sign since they saw all the money building up for this FA market. he would have signed if we offered him 30mill maybe, but even that would be way too much for him. it was a good non-move. if we didn't trade to move up for rocky, his replacement would already be in house. oh well, time to move the f on. SmootSmack 03-06-2007, 07:36 AM Can anyone tell me where in that interview Dock said the Redskins offered him 3 years, $12 million dmek25 03-06-2007, 07:40 PM its right after the answer to question #3 |
