Southpaw 11-08-2007, 02:02 PM I think the goal is to always win the division, and to say that crown belongs to the Cowboys after 8 games is just plain ridiculuous. I will root for the Giants, and for the Skins to take care of business down the road and the division can still be won.
What we want to happen, and what is likely to happen are two different thing. I'm sure everyone here would be extremely happy if Washington went 7-1 in the last eight games and the Cowboys and Giants went 4-4, but that's not going to happen. Washington has a tougher second half of the season than Dallas, and the Giants are playing ridiculous defense.
12thMan 11-08-2007, 02:13 PM I would agree with most here. We want the Cowboys to win the division outright. In fact, with the exception of beating us, I wouldn't mind them running the table.
Guys, the Skins aint going to win this divsion. So it's going to boil down to us, the Giants, and either the Vikes or the Packers for the final wildcard spot.
airsoftking 11-08-2007, 02:14 PM I know it's hard to say, but we must hope for a Dallas win next sunday. Why?? it's simple, at this point of the season, we already know that they are going to lead the NFC East till the end of the year. Look, the Giants are 6-2, if they loose against the cowboys, they will turn 6-3 and if we win against the eagles we will turn 6-3 as well. It means that we wil still be in the race for the second place.
70Chip 11-08-2007, 02:15 PM I just hope Romo and Manning can stay healthy.
calia 11-08-2007, 02:18 PM Man, I can't root for Dallas under any circumstances unless a win will clearly secure a playoff spot for us. Since that isn't the case here, I hope they lose. Oh, and that everyone on both teams is hit with an injury significant enough such that when we face them again, they're at least on par with the heavy losses we've sustained on that front (if not worse).
KLHJ2 11-08-2007, 02:31 PM I say let NY win and keep the Division tight. We are a second half of the season team anyway. Let Dallas and NY continue to play poor second half of the season football. We are right in the hunt for the division.
over the mountain 11-08-2007, 02:33 PM From a playoff perspective, I think it would actually be better for the Cowchips to win.
Dallas is taking this division, there's no other way around it. If the Giants win, it only puts them further ahead in the wild card race, which is Washington's only hope.
it hurts sooo bad to say it . . . but i agree
SC Skins Fan 11-08-2007, 02:43 PM I find it impossible to root for anyone in these intradivisional games. Mostly I just hope that the teams beat each other up pretty good. Giants, Cowboys, you could make arguments either way, but I'd probably say the Giants at this point. The teams I'll really be rooting against are Detroit and Tampa Bay. If worse comes to worse hopefully the East can send three teams like last year.
Southpaw 11-08-2007, 02:44 PM Let Dallas and NY continue to play poor second half of the season football.
When did either of them begin to play poorly? The Cowboys have only been beaten by the Pats, and the Giants have reeled off six straight? As I said before, having both the Giants and Cowboys finish the season poorly would be the dream situation, but it's also completely unrealistic. Especially considering Washington is the least consistent of the three teams.
While I do think Washington has a good shot to make the playoffs, their chances of actually winning the division are very small.

I am refering to the way that they slide towards the end of football seasons. It is a tendancy. I realize that they haven't done it yet. Give them a couple of weeks.
