Well....there's the 3 and from Stevenson no less!
Official Wizards vs Cavaliers Playoff ThreadSmootSmack 04-19-2008, 02:55 PM Well....there's the 3 and from Stevenson no less! mooby 04-19-2008, 03:06 PM It'd be a lot easier to beat the Cavs if we didn't have to play the refs too. I swear James gets every m.f.ing call and they don't even give a shit when he travels on his way to the basket. The Cavs will always be amongst my most hated teams as long as James is playing. It's like the NBA can't allow James to have a bad game because it will reflect on them or some crap. cpayne5 04-19-2008, 03:14 PM I wonder if when LeBron is just out in public and someone shakes his hand a referee comes running in blowing a whistle to give him two foul shots? SmootSmack 04-19-2008, 03:21 PM I think we need to stop making excuses. LeBron is a very good player (great in fact). I don't think he gets "every call" but the reality is that the best players get the benefit of the doubt on calls in every sport, especially in the NBA. And I know some will say he's only great because he gets the calls. I don't buy that. We (the Wizards) need to do our job and the fans need to stop acting like whiny, bitchy pre-2004 Red Sox fans ("oh we're so cursed, nothing ever goes our way. boo hoo"). Jamison was 1-8 from 3 point land, Stevenson was 1-9 for the game, Songaila 1-6 and we just want to complain about the refs? Tough loss, but the Wizards need to regroup and win Game 2 and go home with a split. And they need to bring in guys like McGuire and Pecherov to rough up the Cavs. I'm not saying hurt anyone. I'm saying throw some elbows in there, making these guys fear coming down the lane. mooby 04-19-2008, 03:55 PM I think we need to stop making excuses. LeBron is a very good player (great in fact). As much as I and all the other Wiz fans hate it, we're just gonna have to stop making excuses and play ball good enough to beat them. And I don't want to be compared to pre-04 Red Sox fans, I don't think we're cursed and if we want to be the better team we have to rise above and not let shit like that affect us. I definitely agree about making them fear coming down the lane, we showed some physicality in game 1 but we need to stay consistent with that all game. If we don't stand up to them they will run all over us. And while I agree that Lebron is a great player, I just don't like seeing him get all the calls in his favor. SmootSmack 04-19-2008, 03:59 PM Well if he's going to get calls and go to the lane why not make the fouls count by knocking him on his ass a few times? mooby 04-19-2008, 04:54 PM While I see what your saying, I just don't believe that the Wizards will do that, they'd rather play him close and get called for touching him. All I know is that we have to start stopping him, and if that means knocking him on his ass so be it. We can't overlook the offensive side of the ball though, Lebron had a good game but the only reason it wasn't close at the end was because we weren't hitting shots like we should. Deshawn, while he did a decent job on d playing Lebron, wasn't productive on the offensive end and if we are going to beat them we need to hit the buckets when it counts. SmootSmack 04-19-2008, 05:37 PM Yeah I don't think they'd do that either. We're not the Pistons of 1988. And we definitely need to improve offensively. We can't be counting on 35 footers from Arenas to win games. Overall we played well today though. Just need to play better. I'll bet Arenas starts Game 3 at Verizon SeanTaylor21 04-19-2008, 07:51 PM I'm not saying hurt anyone. I'm saying throw some elbows in there, making these guys fear coming down the lane. That's why we you need a guy like Jared Jeffries, a 6-11 SF, he can throw some elbows, and I think that if Dominic McGuire was given more playing time then he could become a Jared Jeffries type player. SeanTaylor21 04-19-2008, 07:53 PM Too much talk, and not enough production on the court, not a good combination. |
