Too much talk, and not enough production on the court, not a good combination.

Yeah, that was pretty dumb of the Wizards. You don't go and verbally bitch slap a team that has your number the past couple years, and wake up a player like Lebron. I know you guys don't like lebron cause he's beat you in the past, but he's a good player that can take over a game. 32 points on 12 of 19 shooting is pretty damn good.
Stevenson and Jamison sucked from 3 shooting a combined 2 for 14...throw in Butler and all 3 were 2 for 17. That won't win you games.

But hey, it's only 1 game, and it was in Cleveland, so keep your chin up Wiz fans.

Also, be happy that the DC area is likely the 2nd best sports town in the country. The Redskins / Wizards / Capitals all made the playoffs...now if you can just get the Nationals to win. (5-13 is an embarrassment)

ps- Boston is #1 with the (gag me) Patriots going to the super bowl, Sox winning the series (and in 1st place right now), Celtics going to the 3rd best record in Celtics history and by far best record in the NBA this year, and the Bruins making the playoffs.

I think we need to stop making excuses. LeBron is a very good player (great in fact). I don't think he gets "every call" but the reality is that the best players get the benefit of the doubt on calls in every sport, especially in the NBA. And I know some will say he's only great because he gets the calls. I don't buy that.

We (the Wizards) need to do our job and the fans need to stop acting like whiny, bitchy pre-2004 Red Sox fans ("oh we're so cursed, nothing ever goes our way. boo hoo"). Jamison was 1-8 from 3 point land, Stevenson was 1-9 for the game, Songaila 1-6 and we just want to complain about the refs?

Tough loss, but the Wizards need to regroup and win Game 2 and go home with a split. And they need to bring in guys like McGuire and Pecherov to rough up the Cavs. I'm not saying hurt anyone. I'm saying throw some elbows in there, making these guys fear coming down the lane.

The pre 2004 red sox fans were never bitchy or whiny. Yes, the curse was something of a persona, but no more so than the Cubs for instance. The Sox fans took mediocrity and unfortunate events for years and they were still there selling out every game and were more passionate about their sox than any other team in the country. That's not bitching and whining. All fans should look to the Sox nation for perseverence and an example of how real fans should behave win or lose. We / They are the role model fans...especially when 3.5+ million people showed up for that victory parade in the rain, and Old people in the hospital died cause they "hung on to finally see their beloved Sox win". Being a Red Sox fan is something your are born into...it's a lifestyle. It's never bitchy or whiny. Bite your tongue SS.

I lived with a couple of Red Sox fans in college and they, their families, and almost all their friends that were Red Sox fans had every excuse in the book for why they lost other than "we were beat, plain and simple." Great roommates, great friends. But annoying as hell as Red Sox fans.

You shouldn't judge the entire Red Sox nation on a couple of lunatic fans. You of all people should know that considering some of the yahoos that show up here claiming to be Skins fans.
I was born and raised for 22 years in Boston around millions of Sox fans, and I'm telling you the majority are not like that.
I will tell you that people (including myself) always had the idea that we were cursed in the back of our minds, but when we lost we did not bitch and whine about it. Bucky Dent / Buckner / Little not taking Pedro out all sucked, but ultimately we always blamed the team for not coming through. Like Shiraldi and Stanley actually screwed us in the 86 series, Buckner was just the last thing to go wrong. There were plenty of fans that actually enjoyed the fact that the team lost cause they got to keep their persona, and that history alive. (I know it's stupid, but they did exist)
So no matter what team you have, there are always those few. But be careful labelling an entire fan base on a few. Otherwise, we skins fans could be the worst fans in the world in someone's eyes.

ps- no fans are more obnoxious than Yankee fans, and no fans are more viscious and rude than Phily fans. (just an FYI) :D

Well I never judged the entire Red Sox nation. Just that many (not just 2) Red Sox fans that I know were whiny and bitchy until they won the WS in 2004.

But regardless, I shouldn't have brought up because this thread isn't about the Red Sox or its fans.

I just now realized that Tim Redding has 3 of the Nationals 5 wins. Damn good thing you have him eh?

Never judged the entire red sox nation???? Here is your quote:
...the fans need to stop acting like whiny, bitchy pre-2004 Red Sox fans ("oh we're so cursed, nothing ever goes our way. boo hoo").
You are speaking for all Red Sox fans there sir.

But regardless, I shouldn't have brought up because this thread isn't about the Red Sox or its fans.

Very true. It's about the Wizards waking a sleeping giant in the Cavs with their big mouths.

Red Sox fans are bitchy and whiney, all of them. I wonder how many fans brought their old hats and stuff out of the closet when they started winning, I have started to notice more sox hats around. My uncles are sox fans, they whine a lot.

Yes sir...I prefer a thing called english.

Maybe what you should have said was..."well what I meant to say was some red sox fans." Mistakes happen. But hey, english can be a tricky language for some.
