It's not an overreaction. Not in the slightest. I do find myself getting bored reading the same redundant arguments day in and day out, but that's just me.

It's not just you.

My point is the skins had an extra preseason game to prepare for this. They came out completely flat on both sides of the ball, and it ultimately cost them the game.

2 weeks ago, it was a "wake up call" against the panthers, well no one woke up. Last week it was an eye opener, well someone fell asleep on the job. Everyone said "its preseason, wait until it really counts" well we saw they performed, when it really counted, and that is very disappointing.

I can understand an tolerate a loss, its the NFL it happens. But to have your team manhandled like they were in the 1st quarter is embarrassing. Our O-line looked over matched against a team that lost its 2 top defenders, our D line was non-existent, the corners and safeties looked like they had no clue what was going on until the 2nd half. And Campbell well, he was just horrible, there is going to be a learning curve (I am interested to see how Farve does this season, he is in a new system, will it take him 2 years to learn how to play the game he has played his whole life?)

Its hard to be too optimistic when you have one of the hardest schedules in the league, and you can't get positive yardage and a first down, until the very end of the first half!
Lastly I saw a total lack of urgency in Zorn’s play calling, running up the gut is going to wear down Portis, arguably our best player, and then we are in real trouble.

If the skins had merely lost I could have accepted, but they were dominated. There are a myriad of problems on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball, and our season does not get much easier.

Actually Favre himself said that the Jets system is very similar, it is just terminology which is different. Therefore Favre is not learning a whole new system and would make a poor comparison.

Dude, you've got me LMOA. Not laughing at you so don't take this the wrong way but I've never heard Chris Cooley described as a nice player. Shit, just saying that out loud makes me crack up. Cooley has been under-utilized even in his best season, and has shown the talent and athleticism to take over a game. He's a phenom in waiting IMO and I'm hoping Zorn and Co. can hash out a game-plan that let's Cooley be the dominant offensive force he should be.

You could be right about Westbrook over CP but isn't it impossible to say since Westbrook has been blessed in Philly w/ an offensive genius for an HC. CP has been far less fortunate in his path w/ the exception of his brief stint in Denver. More to the point, try thinking about what CP would have done in Westbrook's circumstances. I still think CP can take over a game and it's up to Zorn and the offensive line to give him the opportunity w/ play-calling and decent blocking.

On to Davis, if Zorn and the FO spent a 2nd round pick on the most prolific TE in college ball last year just so he could spend his time blocking we might as well call it a season. Dude showed awesome hands and almost WR like ability to run routes and make defenders miss. If we don't find a way to incorporate him in the offense as a downfield target it looks like the worst pick of the draft.

But here's where we agree - JC is the worst QB in the division (assuming Dono is back to his old self). That is a shitty reality for us, but I'm not ready to say JC is just a shitty QB. He's shown flashes and now he needs to settle into the WCO. Hopefully his experience in the WC from senior year @ Auburn will start to pay dividends. Hopefully he progresses quick enough that we won't have to right '08 off.

I agree that Campbell is the worst QB in the division - right now.

He is also the least experienced. He has also been jerked around between different offensive systems unlike any other QB in the division. McNabb, for example, has had the same system the entire millenium.

Give JC some time and I think you will see this situation change.

I gotta disagree about the Portis/Westbrook comments posted earlier. Westbrook is very good, don't get me wrong. But Portis can run with him, can catch with him, and is the best pass-blocking back in the league.

A true Skins fan will be patient right now rather than hatin' on the boys.

Sorry Matty i cant be like the other greenpeas and kiss you tush on this one. Campbell is horrible hands down. The play calling was even worse. Over-reacting no i don't think so. We should've won that game. Is it me or do we always have to wait until week 13 and play one loss and done football to show what we're made of?

I agree with everything you and Goat are saying with the expection saying JC is the worst QB in the division. I think E. Manning is the worst in the division. The problem I see with JC this year is he is so worried about thrown an interception that he is playing too scared. He needs to loosen up. Hopefully by game 3 or 4 everyone will see a totally different JC.

After week 1, I am glad that we aren't the Raiders because they looked 10 times worse than we did.

Is that possible? Because I could swear, by the way people are reacting by our week 1 play, they think we're going to be last year's Fins team.
