Sheriff Gonna Getcha 09-13-2008, 03:43 PM Reading through some blogs and right-leaning papers they are getting behind her hawkishness. She invokes the same good/evil absolutes as both Bush and the Sith Lords, which gets people fired up. But I have to say, if you think it is possible for the United States to go to war with Russia, no matter the reason, you are living in the past. That is an absolute impossibility and to suggest as much, which she did in overt terms, is the height of foolishness. McCain talks tough on Russia but he certainly knows that an open military confrontation with them is not on the table. I would trust McCain to maintain our bilateral relations with Russia, but should something happen the idea of a war-loving hockey mom holding the keys to our nukes is enough to give me chills.
In fairness, she basically said that all options have to be left on the table. That's not much different than what Obama has said about Iran.

But dude she has no idea what she is talking about. Atleast do some research about the several administrations policies. I do not trust her one bit to step in for president. At all.

hahaa love it.
wilsowilso 09-13-2008, 06:36 PM I have lost most if not all respect for John McCain. All of the lies and hypocrisy are just adding up. I sure hope the American people will not tolerate this. What happened to that guy?

Yours is a nuanced statement. Hers was not. When talking about, and inadvertently to Russia, nuance becomes an essential rhetorical tool to have. She does not have it.

Certainly Obama & the Dems never lie, make hypocritical statements, or misrepresent things.

That's all you got. There are major news organizations flat out saying that the McCain campaign is lying to the american people. What kind of garbage is that? The Dems aren't without fault, but the McCain campaign has lost it's way with regards to the truth. It's un American to straight up lie to the people on this kind of scale.
Slingin Sammy 33 09-13-2008, 07:18 PM She invokes the same good/evil absolutes as both Bush and the Sith LordsKind of the same good/evil absolutes as the Bush=Satan crowd comes up with. One thing I always have found funny over the last 4-5 years is that the same crowd calls him a complete idiot, yet believe he was capable of duping the intellectually superior Dems in Congress (major sarcasm) to support a war based on lies to fuel oil company profits and Haliburton.
but should something happen the idea of a war-loving hockey mom holding the keys to our nukes is enough to give me chills.
The left painted Ronald Reagan with the war-monger brush, yet he deployed troops less than any President in the last 50 years and won the Cold War without firing an official shot. Palin by no means has the experience of Reagan, but you can be sure McCain will have a good staff of advisors in place should something happen to him.
The thing that scares me more than Palin with the keycodes for the Red Button, is Obama getting abused by Ahmadenijad (sp.), Putin, Chavez and Islamic extremists, and putting us back in the same position as Carter had us in back in the late 70s, which was a laughingstock in the world.

I'm not going to respond with links to MANY of the same types of lies and misrepresentations that Obama and the left are putting out there. Please tell me you're not naive enough to think both sides aren't playing the exact same game.
Also, please don't tell me you believe a majority of the "major news organizations": NY Times, Wash Post, LA Times, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC don't lean to the left and write/report to support the Democratic candidate, especially Obama. If Saturday Night Live (by no means a bastion of conservatism) did a sketch on how much the "major news organizations" were fawning over Obama that's pretty telling.
