Be prepared to see much more of this type of thing from both sides in the next 2 months. Welcome to Karl Rove's world. So much for debating any issues!!! It's not like there's anything to worry about...

It's not like there's anything to worry about... saden1 09-10-2008, 06:04 PM I am a Palin supporter and I think this comment has been overblown. The Republicans needs to let this slide off their backs, be the bigger people in this case. Truth be told Sarah Palin could probably care less about the comment. She's a tough lady. Politics is dirty and seems to get dirtier every year. As a school teacher (I work with special needs kids) I agree with Firstdown, teacher unions need to be held to higher standards and bad teachers need to find new professions. You make it sound as if though there was a transgression in the first place. SmootSmack 09-10-2008, 06:16 PM Isn't Palin's husband part Eskimo...or better said, part Inuit? firstdown 09-10-2008, 06:42 PM Be prepared to see much more of this type of thing from both sides in the next 2 months. Welcome to Karl Rove's world. So much for debating any issues!!! It's not like there's anything to worry about... Yea its all Karl Rove's fault and the Dems get draged into his. Last time I looked Rove was retired. firstdown 09-10-2008, 06:47 PM I am a Palin supporter and I think this comment has been overblown. My mother as a public school teacher got the preasure to join the union back in the 80's or maybe late 70's. At first the unions had the childrens interest in hand but it slowley turned away. She quit the union because she felt that the union had turned its back on the children only to gain more power. That Guy 09-10-2008, 06:48 PM palin also begged for the money for a bridge to nowhere, got the money, and when it turned into a fiasco, went on to say there was no way that bridge would be built (to save face), but then she kept the 100mill+ that congress gave alaska to get it built. yeah the bridge was stupid, and she was in favor of it, then stole the f'ing money... what a great reformer! as far as out of context buster - obama (in the youtube clip) said the comment was in regards to the mccain economic plan, so its not like he didn't explain it (And his response was very good). on the nuclear front, it's both sides killing it. not allowing re-use of fuel rods (which would make nuclear energy MUCH cheaper), not allowing adaptations for ships (nuclear ships can go farther faster and hold more since fuel isn't weighting them down - cheaper too, even with an expanded crew)... and it's cleaner than basically any other form of energy, almost infinitely scalable (the big problem with solar/wind/etc), and you don't even have any real risk (pebble beds don't meltdown). Its stupid we haven't built new nuke plants since what? 1960 something? but the current laws are completely misguided. saden1 09-10-2008, 07:04 PM I love this youtube thing: WMPYkNQlJMM Beemnseven 09-10-2008, 07:52 PM  this one? No, this one had a yellow head and his eyes actually rolled. DynamiteRave 09-10-2008, 08:08 PM Pfft. This isn't a presidential race, it's a three ring circus. All this he said, she said, sounds like a bunch of high schoolers running for student body president. By time the general elections come, party lines are going to be so huge you're going to need a boat to get across it. I can't wait till the end of this crap. 70Chip 09-10-2008, 08:47 PM The Democratic Party has a whole team of people pouring over tapes and transcripts to find some Republican saying something they can construe as a racist, but now they want to stick to the issues. It looked to me like the audience in Virginia took it to be a Palin reference based on their reaction. Why would you whoop and cheer for a worn out cliche like that unless you thought it was an attack line. Also, remember Obama's rationale for not taking public financing? He said he needed the extra cash to deal with the attacks from GOP 527s. Well, the Atlantic Monthly is now reporting that the Obama campaign has told their sympathetic 527s (MoveOn, ACT, etc) to do their worst. They are in absolute meltdown over there. | |
