PLAXICO WON’T PLAY AGAINST REDSKINS
Posted by Tim MacMahon on November 28, 2008, 7:48 p.m.
Giants receiver Plaxico Burress will sit out Sunday’s game against the Redskins because of a sore right hamstring.
You can criticize Burress for a lot of things, but his willingness to play through pain is not one of them. He played every game during the Giants’ Super Bowl season despite an ankle injury that kept him off the practice field. Burress injured his hamstring Nov. 16 in the win over the Ravens and aggravated it on the opening series of last week’s win over the Cardinals.
Domenik Hixon will start in Burress’ place. Attention fantasy geeks: Hixon had four catches for 102 yards and a touchdown against the Seahawks, when Burress was suspended for being a bonehead.
The Goat 11-28-2008, 08:22 PM The news on Plaxico is awesome. Also heard that both Jacobs and Bradshaw are still ailing and Tuck had some kind of injury during practice. Looks like this battle will come down to emotion over injury issues because things are a little more even there - hopefully our guys play out of their minds come Sunday w/o losing focus.

Bradshaw hasn't practiced all week, so he very well might not be able to go. Jacobs practiced today and will most likely play, although he was probable last week and was a late scratch. Tuck was back at practice today as well, and from what I read, he'll play.
On a down note for us, it's not looking very good for either Andre Carter or Fletcher to play. That sucks big time.
Paintrain 11-28-2008, 08:37 PM I hope Blache sticks 8-9 in the box and makes Manning beat us. Hixon is a nice substitute for Plax but let's be honest, Plax killed us the past few years.
CRedskinsRule 11-28-2008, 09:41 PM So this time we have our top cb and they don't have their top wr. role reversal, lets hope the score shows a reversal as well!

I don't have a link or anything to give you to back me up Scud, but I'll bet they both play. From what I've heard, Bam-Bam's injury is worse than Carter's but I'd bet he finds a way to play. He knows how important this game is plus he has a streak going. If it's just a matter of playing with pain, he'll be there. There's no way Blades could fill Fletcher's shoes completely, he doesn't have the knowledge or experience, but that is his natural position and he is a 'tackling machine". I would think they would at least start Fletch if possible and if he can't go full speed, bring Blades in. Right now, today, Fletcher said he feels better but not 100%.
prinzeofmoval 11-28-2008, 10:17 PM we need to try and score some damn points most of all.
Yeah from this point on scoring less then 20 will not take us to the promise land

yeah losing London for this one would be significant but I'm not so sure about missing AC. It basically forces us to keep Evans @ end all day which will help us stop the rushing attack and throws JT to the other side where he's in all likelihood still more comfortable and probably better than AC. Wouldn't be surprised if Taylor earns his paycheck for the first time this season. Also won't be surprised if we're all talking about Lorenzo's big performance next week. I know Golston is supposed to be the guy w/ the motor but Lorenzo looks like pure adrenaline out there.
Mr.Redskin 11-29-2008, 12:08 AM Yeah from this point on scoring less then 20 will not take us to the promise land
Too True
Mr.Redskin 11-29-2008, 12:14 AM Will Eli BE forced to beat us?
Will we withstand their run down your throat/playaction pass scheme??
I think if Eli decides the game than we probably have matched up well up to that point. It seems Week 1 they exploited J.taylor to gain early momentum and had us on our heels till we clamped down and held them defensively afterwards. We have the personnel to beat them. I don't think they do anything special other than both Lines on O/D play more physical than opposing teams. Obviously, Jacobs is shaping to be the steam roller that Jerome Bettis was and with good health he will be even more dangerous by career end, but enough of GMen love.
I rather ask :
Will the Skins OLINE pass block?
Will the Skins DLINE collapse the pocket ?
Zorn, in my opinion is the dominant factor why we have faltered in 4 games this year. But I don't understand why our offense has stalled this year. Our run game is on point (as always) but I have expected more passes down field. Kicking field goals is a demoralizing play when ultimately scoring is hard to come by. They have to change this dismal,(yes dismal) air attack. Granted, I love the WR/TE screen but where are our WR's? They seem to be taken out of the game. I know Jansen can't pass block but the rush on Campbell should never be getting to him.
Our defense is not able to generate a pass rush with the front 4 and get a sack, though we can stop the run and stop the pass but this game is shaping up with a new dimension if we play w/o Fletcher,Carter, and I think MWashington (Is that accurate) that Eli won't need to be forced to beat us, the game is nearly handed to them b/c they will simply run the ball all day.
I like the young rookie in the Giants secondary but other than that I think that is their weakness on defense. It be great to see us spread the field and have them try to match us. That I think will help Campbell and give our Oline 1 on 1 blocking duties.
We have to score some TD's ,settling for FG's this point in the season while in danger of
missing a wild card chance simply will not do. This team seems to have decided late in the seasons to spark rallies and with an emotional year and ring of honor game nothing would make this game as special as a definitive win and a new found pride in the way we execute our offense.
As the game looms and more national talk on major sport channels my heart sinks even more thinking of Sean. It would add terrible insult to play poorly so I just hope they make the Taylor family proud and all the Skins fans too.
Peace to all Warpathers.
