Will we force Eli to beat us?

Like you said before Goat, if Carter is hurt, why not have Evans play his regular spot and put JT in Carters spot?

a three-man front against NY seems nuts because we just don't have d-line monsters like teams that run the 3-4 or some version of it.

^^^ i really liked how blache came out using different looks this game and it really showed early in the game with hasselback having to take TOs b/c he didnt recognize what we were doing. the post game interviews confirmed it.

at week 11 its about time we switch up what were doing sometimes and for the first game in awhile it seemed we had a solid game plan . . i just hope it doesnt take playing our coaches former team to be able to game plan and adjust to upcoming opponents. that being said i have to be patient with coach zorn as he is just learning the NFC east,

it will be important for the skins not to lose track of domenik hixon as he is a playmaker (anyone watch his two spectacular returns a week ago). That being said, not having plax to defend will definitely free up the defense to concentrate on jacobs/bradshaw/ward.
IMO, this game will depend on the play of hb blades (if fletcher can't go). Will he be able to make plays and stop jacobs after 3/4 yards or will he be overwhelmed and give up a bunch of 12/13 yard runs that move the chains quickly and get the gmen into scoring position with regularity...thats what the game will hinge on.
That being said, there is no way that eli will be able to beat the skins' secondary...spring,smoot,rogers,landry,horton,hall are just too good for an average qb like manning to pick apart.

Good point on Hixon as he is quicker than Plax i believe. Still I think Rogers, Hall and even Smoot should be able to basically contain him, leaving S. Springs to play FS or man-up a better receiver.

This is a case of a Good football team playing against the best team in the NFL. Our defense has been solid but it's been the offense which has not carried the weight.

If CP has a good game our offense does well; however, it is apparent to me that JC will not progress unless the pass protection improves.

Our run defense will be tested in this game. Eli doesn't have to win this game - the three Giant RB will do the job.

On any given Sunday, the best team can be beaten. The Redskins are going to have to move to a new level to win on Sunday. I'm hopeful but don't believe this current squad has the juice to beat the Giants.

Sup everybody? I been thinking about this Sunday non-stop (probably not the only one) and keep feeling like it will come down to our strategy on defense. I know this sounds weird because it's the offense that has struggled; however, my intuition is our offense is going to play extremely tough football. CP will be 200% focus and I think the o-line will take tremendous pride in smash-mouth football for 4 full quarters as a way to honor Sean and the close friendship between he and Portis. Also, the passing game will continue to open up now that Kelly is making progress and JC has regained some composure.

Defensively, we're facing the best ground game in football. Just curious if anyone thinks Blache will stack the box right from the beginning w/ the front four and then the SS moving up close to the line as a defacto 4th linebacker (and everyone keying in on the backfield)? It forces Eli to beat us, which seems risky at first because he can be very good. But there's this: we've got an elite secondary now w/ Springs healthy and Hall progressing quickly. If we could get an early INT w/ aggressive man-to-man coverage Eli could fall apart as he did against Cleveland (the Giants only loss).

Again this is risky, but if we can effectively shut down NY's rushing attack and get a great game from Springs, Rogers, Hall, Landry and Horton I could see Eli begin to struggle early and the Giants unable to adjust.

Goat you are really grasping at straws here. Not saying our Skins can't come away with a win, but it will be due to Eli going back to rookie form and throwing a ton of INTs. It is highly doubtful our hapless lines will dominate the Gmen in the trenches. First, our O line is a bunch of once proud Pro Bowlers now seen as foggies running out of gas, as well as being somewhat injury prone. Did you see the Gmen D line vs Arizona? Those guys are hungry and relatively healthy!! Do you honestly think Jansen or Thomas are going to withstand that kind of onslaught for 4 whole quarters? Also, I think Pierce is going to have a nice reunion with Portis, as the Gmen pass rush eliminates our passing game. And on the other side of the ball............ I guess we won't go there since there is no scientific proof yet of the existence of a Redskin pass rush. All in all, I think we are going to get our collective asses handed to us. Not sure about the playoffs either, but hey, there is a bright side to next season!!!!! Norv is sure to get the boot and maybe Snyder can hire him as the OC in 09! That would be a blast!!!!!!!

Sure he's banged up but if you think he and the chums on the o-line will come out flat in this battle i guess you have very little respect for their character. There will be a nasty bruising battle for 4 qtrs of football and the G-men already have some injuries on defense.

If our O-Line can hold then we have a shot. We cannot let Jacobs get rolling either.

Gotta have some fun in here Goat and mix things up other than just the usual mundane stuff. Our lines have been playing subpar to average most of the season so, why do you think I am on or off Prozac to be able to observe that? Gmen lines are dominant end of story!! The Gmen destroy their opponents while we squeak by the likes of the Sea Chickens and Lions, even if we statistically dominate. Don't even get me going on the Rams!!!!!! To win we have to have supreme efforts by both lines and I haven't seen that yet this season. Our O line has had some nice games for sure, but both lines having stellar games hasn't happened yet. Let's hope come tomorrow night that I am eating some major crow, but for now I think we will need much more than an emotional lift to beat the Gmen.
