It would have been nice to have him back but it's not a great loss that he's gone. He's a decent run stuffing end who gets occasional pressure on the passer. Hopefully Buzbee or Jackson can develop into what he brought to the table.

Lets give our young backups: Chris Wilson, Alex Buzbee and Rob Jackson a run. We brought them in hoping they will be more than just bench warmers so lets find out. Has Daniels signed with another team? bring him back at vet min and use the rotation. Also remember Haynesworth also likes to play DE in certain situations which means we can have Monty and Griff inside with haynesworth on the left!

We just signed the most dominant DT in football, retained a young playmaking defensive back, brought back a top-flight offensive guard familiar at great value and yet the front office is a bunch of morons for not spending a couple of million dollars on a reserve 30 year-old linemen who drew no interest from around the league, save for one (one very average) franchise. Nice guy, and yeah $4 million is probably not much in the grand scheme of things. But it's not chump change either. We could, for example, trade down and draft say Tyson Jackson and Clint Sintim addressing both DL and linebacker needs...and we'd still probably pay the two of them next year less than what Evans would get.

And we have plenty of valuable, hard-working role players (Thrash, Khary Campbell, Rock). What we need are young studs, not aging good guys.

Comparing Evans to Clark is highly misleading because was a 25/26 year old starting safety for us that was developing a strong camraderie with Sean Taylor. Evans is a reserve (started more than one game in a season for the first time in his career last year) close to the other side of 30, and the addition of Haynesworth more than makes up for the loss of Evans.

I like Evans and it would have been nice if he could have stayed, but to rant and rave over his loss and complain about the idiocy at Redskins Park because he's not here anymore is fracking moronic.

There is our rantPerhaps Spence would have to answer this, but would his opinion change at all if we found out later that Vinny was offering more for Evans (say 2/$4), and Evans opted anyway for San Francisco. Is it at all possible that maybe he just wants to play in California.

I absoultely agree that 2/3.8 is a bargain for Demetric Evans, but if we tried to get him at a similar price and failed, did we really fail because we're morons?

Redskins DIDN'T offer nor did they make a counter offer for Evans. From the man himself. Hate to see him go. Offence is where the Skins need improvement. Younger OL and some go to receivers. 100million dollar man was a waste for one person, but with that money he should be able to play DL, LB, CB,FS,RB OL, WR, K.

I'm glad we still have that.

i wouldn't say 2mill per for evans is a bargain... fair price, but he's a role player and only moderately productive.

Dude, chill out, it's not like we let Laron Landry walk away or something. Why are our fans so overdramatic.
