Who care's about Willis? What has he ever done to warrant a starting RT position. He's probably on par with Heyer and we'd have to pay him more.
As far as Suggs goes, is this even possible? Is this just talk from fans kicking the can around or what? If it is true and we could possibly get him (I'd really be amazed if we did but then again, I said that about Haynesworth too and then again when Hall resigned and yet again when we scooped Dockery) we could definately run some 3-4.
Haynesworth would be the undeniable force at NT with Griffin and Daniels (assuming he's resigned) playing the ends. Then we'd have Suggs and McIntosh playing OLB with Fletcher and Blades playing inside. Blades might be better suited as a special teamer but could produce at a high level given the amount of talent surrounding him.
And if we were really considering Suggs, I'd imagine we'd have to give up our 1st round pick if not more (high 2010 picks most likely). I'd rather draft Maualuga if he's available if we were to continue upgrading the defense and keep our future picks.
Suggs is just fan talk. We don't have anything to trade to anyone.

Willis could'nt have been but so good to last this long. I doubt he's any better than Heyer.

That's what I thought. Plus there's no way to pay him.

Exactly, It looked seemed like we might sign him, but to see him on the arket so long raised some questions. Sign Crowell, draft Smith or Oher, and find a DE in the 3rd.

Suggs was just a joke. Kind of. I only said it to stir the pot of ideas a little. But with that said. I don't put anything past snyder. Nor do I doubt his ability to do the impossible anymore. I wouldn't mind Suggs at this point.

I think it's become pretty clear that the Redsklins are drafting a right tackle with their first pick. If they don't like the value at #13 then they can trade back ten to fifteen spots and pick up a RT with a late first round grade and pick up another first day selection. That right tackle from Connecticut has a late first round grade. Or they can do the same thing and draft Alex Mack in the mid to late 20's. Either way they have no choice but to draft an offensive lineman. I think all this talk about taking a linebacker in the first seems more and more unlikely because the offensive line is a much bigger need. NFL linebackers grow on trees compared to quality offensive linemen.

Southern California … The Bears gave the Trojans all they could handle before USC escaped with a 24-17 victory … Mack delivered two touchdown-resulting blocks among his seven knockdowns, keeping All-American nose guard Sedrick Ellis out of the backfield all game … Ellis was upended by the Cal center on a 17-yard scoring burst up the middle by tailback Justin Forsett in the first quarter … Late in the third stanza, he bounced off a block on Ellis to flatten linebacker Brian Cushing on a 20-yard touchdown pass from QB Nate Longshore to Lavell Hawkins … Head to Head Competition-NG#49-Sedrick Ellis (6:02-305)-Five tackles (2 solos) … Offensive Impact-Mack recorded seven knockdowns and two touchdown-resulting blocks, grading 87 percent … Helped the team gain 200 yards with one touchdown on 45 carries (4.44 ypc) and generate 399 total yards on 74 snaps (5.39 yards per play).

I'd like to think an OT (or OG) will be their first pick, whether at 13 or down later in the first. But I'm not convinced it will be.

Be interesting to see how Willis progresses in Seattle. What I haven't understood is how people classified him as a hum-ho prospect when at least statistically it looked like he was a best OT left on the market. For instance i keep hearing Willis and Barnes come up together. Barnes gave up 7.5 sacks last year and otherwise just performed poorly. Willis started 10 games played in all 16 and gave up just 1.5, so that's the pass protection stat, but also from the little bit i read on Seachicken boards he's a mauler too.
... anyway i tend to think now it's worth waiting till after the draft to sign any more FAs. Who knows which players teams will cut once they've got young studs to put in the line-up...

Me neither.
