FRPLG 08-13-2009, 11:25 AM I wanted to go the Air and Space museums but my girl said it's not worth going because it doesn't have much to see and the Seattle's The Museum of Flight (http://www.museumofflight.org/) is comparable so I went to the Capital Building instead. I'll be going back there in Octobar for my boy's wedding so I saved some time for other sites then when it's not 100 degrees outside. I done burned up out there.
I've never heard anyone say the Air and Space Museum doesn't have much to see. That's a first. The place is awesome. You'll have to hit it up next time you find yourself in the DC area.

Damn, I've been lied to by her and my little brother. I'll be sure to check it out next time.

Yeah seriously. It's a must see if you ask me.
The annex is pretty cool too.
Slingin Sammy 33 08-13-2009, 11:31 AM Here's the 25 point plan, tell me about the similarities:From wiki: The Nazi Party presented its program in the 25 point National Socialist Program (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Socialist_Program) in 1920. Among the key elements of Nazism were anti-parliamentarism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-parliamentarism), Pan-Germanism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pan-Germanism), racism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazism_and_race), collectivism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collectivism),[10] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazism#cite_note-9)[11] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazism#cite_note-Hayek-10) eugenics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_eugenics), antisemitism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antisemitism), anti-communism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-communism), totalitarianism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Totalitarianism) and opposition to economic liberalism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economic_liberalism) and political liberalism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_liberalism).[11] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazism#cite_note-Hayek-10)[12] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazism#cite_note-11)[13] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazism#cite_note-12)
Points 10, 13, 14, 19 and 21 focus on the general elements of collectivism, and opposition to economic liberalism (capitalism) and political liberalism (limited gov't).
And to be clear, I don't think Obama and the left are going to be sending out the troops and rounding up conservatives.

Well, it is free :)
It may be that Seattle's museum rivals it, simply because you have Boeing right there. For me, growing up it was an absolute must EVERY year. It does have Skylab mockup and the Soyuz/Skylab hookup display which are awesome. I looked at the Seattle link, and if I ever get there again (only been once) I will definitely go see it.

I second that, you definitely need to hit it next time.

Which one do you prefer? The one by the Mall or the one out by Dulles Airport? I think they're both great personally. Although my favorite is the Museum of Natural History
saden1 08-13-2009, 11:45 AM I know exactly what he was referring to, I read it at whitehouse.gov.
And what part of Cornyn's letter that I posted is false? He stated that he's not aware of any prior precedent for this. As far as I know this is true. He also stated that the action raises the "specter of a data collection system", which it does.
The Obama Admin was at the forefront of using the web as a campaign marketing tool. He's the President now, CEO of the country, he's not head of the Obama marketing department anymore. Totally different mind-set and I don't think he's made the full transition yet.
While I was no fan of Clinton, where he was more effective than Obama (thusfar) was in reading the political winds and finding the center when necessary. Clinton was a masterful politician and knew how to make deals. He also knew what battles not to fight. Obama is a true-believer in more left leaning policies and seems unwilling to make the compromises necessary to forward agenda with minimal political damage. He continues to fight a losing battle without compromise and IMO this will cost him in 2010 by losing at least one house, if not both houses of Congress.
Cornyn letter is false in both substance and context. Whose information are they going to collect? The person that is forwarding you the email or the people listed in the CC who are mostly forwarding the email too? What is the point of this exercise? If you really want to spy on the American people you already have that with the NSA and it's new found power of data mining, that would be the best way to go instead of tracking down people in chain emails.
I don't know if Obama is the first, though I do remember Homeland Security Administration under Bush asking us to report suspicious activities which more nefarious because it asks you to directly report Americans to HSA where as the Obama administration asks you to forward them fishy emails. Furthermore "as far as I know" is not language used by wise men. I mean, as far as I know Cornyn could be a bisexual.
Obama has learned a lot from Clinton's experience. One of these lessons is to debunk and fight the rumor mills at every turn and the point of asking people for help is to inform the public of the truth, their truths. We'll see if their actions work in their favor come 2010.

Last time I was down there I went to the annex out by Dulles. The space shuttle was insane, just to see how big that thing is was amazing.

Do you think there are points in there I can associate with our Republic and Republicans party?
