School me on why I should be watching this show. Sounds a bit soap opera-ish the way you guys talk about it, lol. I've had it on my Netflix queue for a while now, just haven't pulled the trigger.

I think everyone who watches it can relate to someone in the show. Like for me I can see some of myself in Peter, he is torn between city "life" and now being a full time family man. I have fully embraced the ladder now but not so along ago it was a big adjustment for me and frankly anyone who just had their first child. Like in last night's episode his wife said when they were visiting Don in the city "god it is so loud here" and he mumbled "i know" like he missed it. Just little things like that draw you in.

I guess in away it is a soap opera but they seem to always do something that just blows your mind and it come out of no where.

I also think it brings to light just how powerful the AD world can be and this documents when it really started picking up steam.

My parents enjoy it a lot and I think they get a lot of nostalgia out of it. I like it to see them living in such a UN-political correct world.

It be a good summer program for you watch when nothing else is on and by the time you catch up this season will be on DVD.

Plus it is a great "wifey" show, to watch together. Actually some of the scenes are pretty hot and you may find yourselves pausing it for a "timeout". :cool-smil

Another great line from last night was during Don's "birthday gift". When Roger says to his young wife "why don't you dance like that for me" and she responded "why don't you look like him" (meaning Don). that made me laugh out loud.

In terms of TV series: Breaking Bad, The Wire, Mad Men...and not necessarily in that order.

The Wire is the one I struggle with. Maybe that will be my summer series.

Homeland is pretty high on my list too but they only have had one season so they need a few more before I can put them in this company.

Here's my list (in order). I've seen every episode of these shows (except BB):

1. The Wire
2. Lost
3. Sopranos
4. 24
5. Entourage
6. Mad Men
7. Breaking Bad (stopped in season 2)

As for Mad Men I still watch but defintely not my favorite. A little too girly for me. But Don Draper and Roger Sterling are two of my favorite characters ever, they make the whole show worthwhile.

Matty my recommendation would be to save this show to watch with your wife. In that context you won't be disappointed.

The Wire probably the best written TV series ever. Yes, ever.

I don't know, didn't really do it for me. Didn't love many of the characters and it was a little too depressing for me.

Season two is probably the slowest season

It sounds like a couple of you guys have a thing for Betty? Does her attraction wane at all for you when considering this:

I'm fascinated by Betty more so by the fact that in everything else I've seen January Jones in (which isn't much) she's sooooo soooo bad, like "worst actress in Hollywood" bad. Yet somehow on Mad Men she's great.

I mean if we're just talking about eye candy..give me Jane (Peyton List)

Meanwhile, kind of odd to see Larisa Oleynik all grown up and on Mad Men

I honestly don't like January Jones, but i love her as Betty Draper. If that makes sense.
