Ha! Probably. Funny how just a few weeks ago we were guaranteed to go 14-2, and now we need to get rid of Shanahan asap. Yet we didn't have Randy Moss when the 14-2 predictions were flying our way

He probably thought we would get Vincent Jackson. LOL.

But he knows football. He's a perfect analyst...

You guys above can pretend if you want, that we made the right move and hopefully we did.

But lets hope we aren't discussing this again when we lose to the titans 31-17 and Moss has 6 catches for 158 yards and 2 TD's cause we can't cover him.
OK?

I think it was a 'terrible" football decision,to not claim moss.

Now,the titans will be getting a compensatory pick as well, when they decide to let Moss walk next season and probably net a 3rd rounder or so...

Something,we also need. Draft picks to build this team.

This wasn't a bad move...this was a very stupid..STUPID decision,to not claim him off waivers. imo

but you know football, right? I mean, this team is going 14-2 this year.... Oh wait...

ace is pissed so lets bring out the "aceinthehouse predicts Skins to go 14-2 crowd,so lets dump on him"...

If it makes you guys feel better..ok

I had already weighed the risks and rewards of picking up Moss.
The risks were minimal imo..and the rewards were huge and this is why I'm so upset.

I would not have been upset had dallas,Rams or the Bills or someone in front of us on the claims list, had got him and we didn't. We had no control over that...I understand that.

I also understand we had to pick up the 3.3+ million or whtever it is for 8 games as well.
I even also understand that Moss's contract with new england..then minny..then whoever claimed him...had a "NO franchise TAG" in his contract.

So we would had to let him go or give him a new contract outright...something we probably would not want to do. OK...

Of course, that's assuming there's any football at all next season from the labor Lockout...OK

So lets look at the RISKS and REWARDS for claiming Randy Moss...OK?

Risks:
#1)There's the chance that Moss spouts off to the media again or causes a problem inside the locker room and forces us to release him thus...leaving us on the hook for the 3.3 million salary for the rest of this uncapped season. OK..?
#2)There's the chance that Moss plays half ass or doesn't give his 100% on field, thus alienating guys on the team who are working their butt off. OK?
#3)We will have to release a player from the team to claim Randy Moss. Probably a WR like Roydell Williams or the 38 year old old Joey Galloway to stay with the 53 man roster. OK?
#4)He will have a little less than 2 weeks to learn a West Coast Kyle Shanahan playbook, that requires not only effort, but good precision routes. Something Moss is capable of,but not always inclined to do,unless he knows he's getting the ball. OK?

These are probably the biggest 4 things, that I believe were on most people's minds of being a risk in having Randy Moss on this football team.

Rewards:
#1)Moss is a sure HOFer...a proven commodity...a 1st ballot. Some believe the 2nd greatest WR behind jerry rice and he has the NFL records to back up those claims. He's had an amazing career.. He's a proven commodity and not some "flash in the pan" type of player. OK?
#2)Moss is widely considered by the NFL as a pretty good run blocker. Probably mostly do to his 6'4" 210 lb frame and less about his effort. OK? But this is one of those things that "I" know..that some may not or don't recognize off hand.
#3)Despite his favorite "9 route" or fade or streak he likes to run,he also is good over the middle as well. He runs the slant very well and provides a big frame for the QB to hit.
#4)Probably the best "over the top" wr ever in the game. He made Revis island his Bxxxx early in the year with that 1-handed grab, but this is something he's done his whole career. The only player I EVER saw stop him 1-on-1 in a true battle for the ball over the top,was our very own and late..Sean Taylor. Simply put..you can't cover him 1-on-1 on the long ball,if the ball is reasonably on the mark. You just can't.
#5)Moss is so scary...that he actually makes the other players look good. Did you see how Percy Harvin exploded when Moss came aboard? You have to roll your coverage over to his side...he opens up the middle of the field for the TE and he allows more running lanes because there's more focus on his deep ball and he requires a D-coord. to respect that. Yes,even at 33 years old.
Just the addition of Moss alone, would have taken pressure off of Santana Moss,Armstrong,Cooley and anyone else running patterns to get open or for 1-on-1 coverage against a LB or to our advantage. Because Moss alone, forces the Defense hands in covering him. He also takes that 6th,7th or 8th man out of the box in stopping the run, into coverage and for successful running plays.
#6)Moss is a TD scoring machine. He can turn the game around on 1 throw and can do it at any time, when he's on the field. He also has very good hands and rarely drops the ball. His concentration on catching it..(when the effort is there) is remarkable.
#7)Having Moss in our final 8 games, could have really allowed our offense to stretch the field. It would have opened things up for Mcnabb as well as our running game. Yea,our o-line can't block, but maybe we could have ran quick screens or slants to Moss with his big frame. All of our players are fairly little guys...He would have allowed us to create mismatches on the field in his talent alone. We made not have been an explosive juggernaut with Moss, but we definately could have used his talent alone in creating mismatches and to take a little pressure off of mcnabb in having a big target as well as little moss and other players.
#8)Even though we would most likely had him for only 8 games and he would be gone, there's always the possibility of him building a friendship here in that time and wanting to stay for another year. This would also have allowed us to focus on other areas of need in next years draft. Specially considering we no longer have a 3rd or 4th rounder to use. There's also the chance that had we let him go somewhere else, where he got a different contract, that we would have got some compensation for his loss. As high as a 3rd rounder and as low as a 7th rounder..depending on his new contract and circumstances. So that part is awesome.
#9)..And last..he would have helped in making a playoff push in these final 8 tough games. But not just that...He would be a nice addition in the playoffs as well with his experience and big play ability. The last time Mcnabb had a HOF type of WR..they were in the SB,so I guess anything is possible. Yet,Mcnabb and Moss don't have that Mcnabb and TO history either...It would be fresh..

So you guys can make fun of me.."aceinthehouse" and the guy who predicted a 14-2 season,if it makes you feel cool or better...

But I'm saying this was a mistake and we should have claimed this guy for the reward imo outweighing the risk.

So not only are we still asking ourselves questions on the direction of this team from the Shanny/Mcnabb fiasco last Sunday and the Locker room..(go figure..lol)

But now we have to face an already tough Titans team in 3 weeks who are very good and have beat the other 3 NFC east teams already. Now we face them with Randy Moss. And we haven't been that great in stopping these kind of Players...in case you haven't noticed?

So call me an idiot or a fool or whatever....but i'll take my 21 years of football experience and 7 years of coaching experience over any of the Warpath wanna be warlords on here who know better on any subject and call me out to be some fool because I thought we would go 14-2 with the new roster and coaching staff we had, before the season was even underway from hope of many bad seasons.

I'm telling you..I know my football..and this was a bad decision.
I hope it doesn't come back to bite us in the ass.
We may very well, need that titans game for a 9th win to make the Playoffs and 1 non decision could in reality affect the course of time when Moss lights our ass up for 200 yards receiving and 3 TD's. (when he should be on our team)

We had the claim ahead of them @ #15...
This was a stupid low risk-high reward NON-move by Shanny
and he failed..

Lets HOPE he's the coach ,we all HOPE he is!! Or was...

Yes,I'm losing my mind.

It's like knowing you got screwed, but not being able to do anything about it.
Which is what happened today...

Hopefully,i'm wrong and we go on to win 9 or 10 games and make the Playoffs...
But with the redskins luck...
Well..you guys know the story
