Well, it goes back to what you consider a bust.
To me a bust is a guy that straight up can't play. Ryan Leaf, JaMarcus Russell types.
Brunell was disappointing for the most part here, but he did put together a pretty decent 2005 season.
I think the word bust gets tossed around a little too liberally.

brunell was only good for 2-4 games a season... the problem was asking him to play more. man that was some ugly football.

Are you sure it looks like he's taking the conditioning test.

Brunell wasn't a bust if for no other reason than the Cowboys game when he aired it out twice to Santana in the final 2 minutes! One of my favorite Skins memories!

Brunell was more of a stop gap measure. He was aged already, but he did have a few nice games for us. Thing is we did overpay for him for the overall field of work that he gave us. Face it, even Frerotte was more exciting to watch than Mark was most of the time, and Gus was throwing to old Wrs!!!!!!

How many playoff seasons did Gus have?
Thought so.
The most exciting thing he did was head butt a concrete wall.

Frerotte to Westbrook.
Greater than Montana to Rice?
