If you like Stern that much, and if Sirius is as good as XM (which I assume it is), it's really worth it.
I bought XM just for ESPN Radio, and that alone is worth it.
How's the quality on those? I've heard everything from a "high-quality radio broadcast" to some people saying it's about CD quality. Right now I'm debating on one of those iPod Shuffles or satellite radio.

Am I the only one feeling Stern is going to end up deeply regretting moving to sattelite radio? I personally don't like the guy, occassionally he'll do something hillarious but a majority of his show is just annoying and bitching about his management. Not to mention arty in the backround with a face full of food saying WAH. He get's paid to say Wah 45 times a show...
Anyhow, I feel it's too early for any big-name DJ to move over to satelite radio. Especially with two large distributers. You don't know which is going to end up being VHS and which will be Beta Max.
Also, does anyone know how the XM/Sirrius guys are able to stay afloat? No commercials, a very small monthy fee. How can they afford to pay DJs and keep these services running?
Stern will be fine. He has a huge and loyal following, the # of sirrus subscriptions has more than doubled since his announcement was made and the majority of that is undoubtedly due solely to him. I think he's perfect for satellite since he's so handcuffed on public radio especially since the FCC crackdown.

Stern will make Sirius TOWER over XM.
XM better try to get Rush Limbaugh or something, lol.

You guys forget - a majority of Stern's listeners would have to drive their homes to the local car dealership and sell them to afford Sirrius =/

the cost of subscriptions may not go down, but the cost of the equipment will eventually...
Boz - XM has Opie and Anthony...no need for Rush

Depends on how you hook it up to the radio. Generally, if you wire it up correctly, it will provide excellent sound quality. The one I have has just a FM modulator built in. I was gonna wire it up to my stereo but was very much impressed with the quality of the modulator and haven't done that yet. There are other ways of doing it, but generally a line to your radio will give you superior sound quality.

Excellent... maybe I'll get an iPod AND satellite radio.
