Replacement refs: The story the NFL wants to keep quietlos panda 09-25-2012, 12:06 PM i just saw the play from last night, what are these ref's smoking? Ruhskins 09-25-2012, 12:12 PM Exactly. And this hit isn't "allowing them to play" it's dangerous and dirty and exactly the kind of potentially life altering shot the the NFL claims it's trying to eliminate. To not even throw a flag here is completely inexcusable. Right before the hit to Hey-Bey, some other Raiders receiver got slammed with a helmet-to-helmet hit. I am sure this is a situation where a thrown flag would have in some way prevented any other helmet-to-helmet hits, like the one to Hey-Bey. Monkeydad 09-25-2012, 12:13 PM I haven't confirmed myself but that famous former-Lingerie League ref was working last night. Source: Radio report claiming the Lingerie League themselves were stating this. Crazy...one ref was signally no TD and the other signaled TD, standing right beside each other! If this doesn't move things forward FAST, we'll know the NFL doesn't care. Streater...he was down for a while too. skinsguy 09-25-2012, 12:15 PM You have to be kidding me, he leads with the helmet, makes no attempt to get low, and thrusts his helmet upwards under his chin, that is one of the most dangerous hits you can make in football, talk about defenseless. Running with a full head of steam, and having someone do that to you. just look at how his left arm reacts to the hit. BTW, he got fined 35k for the hit I believe. So much for the clean hit theory. I do understand its a cowboy on the receiving end, lol, but that doesnt make it right. Actually from that animation you posted, it appeared the helmet didn't hit the chin but right between the numbers. However, it's the angle I'm looking at it from. I'm sure if I saw the hit from the side, I could tell if it hit the chin. CRedskinsRule 09-25-2012, 12:17 PM Good read on the real issues behind the NFLRA Lockout. Brandt, who I like alot, tries to be fair, but to me it sounds like he puts it on the owners. ESPN NFL Will MNF outcome break stalemate? If this doesn't move things forward FAST, we'll know the NFL doesn't care. I'm gonna be honest, I think we already know the NFL doesn't care. Until the public outcry becomes so massive that fans don't show up to games or spend money on the product, I think the scab refs will continue to be employed. If they don't anything now after the refs cost the Packers a win, it clearly means they don't give a shit. It's all about the revenue stream. skinsguy 09-25-2012, 12:20 PM The crazy thing is there are actually people who still believe the refs aren't doing any worse of a job than the regulars, and also believe last night's call was correct...LOL! I find that mind-boggling. NC_Skins 09-25-2012, 12:22 PM @AlbertBreer: NFL:The NFL officiating department reviewed the video today and supports the the decision not to overturn Nope. They don't give a shit. skinsfan69 09-25-2012, 12:23 PM You have to be kidding me, he leads with the helmet, makes no attempt to get low, and thrusts his helmet upwards under his chin, that is one of the most dangerous hits you can make in football, talk about defenseless.
