How would you feel if Shanahan benches RGIII?

How many games have we gone quarter after quarter w/out scoring any points? W/out getting first downs? Some of these sacks are on the QB for holding the ball and scrambling around when he gets off his first read. What about that pathetic INT last week? Or throwing balls over the heads of wr's? Whatever the reason is for benching RG3, it needs to be done. MS is flat out liar. So what? All NFL coaches lie. Gibbs lied all the time. I just hope he sits Polumbus, Fletcher and a few more.

You don't sit him even though is playing pretty terribly. Can anyone say he's been put in the best position this year to succeed? The OLine has given basically zero pocket all year. His WRs don't win battles. And they only thing good got hurt(Reed). How does putting Cousins in that any better? Reorganize on offense, go back to square one, try to protect him and let him try and get some confidence back. Benching him only makes a bad situation even worse. And benching him isn't about protecting him anyways...its a ploy. A shameless ploy at that.

All this will do is hurt Cousin's future trade value, which is partially intentional as far as I'm concerned.

I agree that it will hurt Cousins' trade value. RGIII can at least escape when the line folds, Cousins will just end up taking sack fumbles and looking like a turnover-prone ninny muggins.

Or he might not hold the ball, get it out quicker and take less sacks.

While I'm curious to see what Cousins can do, Griffin REALLY needs the work to improve his reading defenses from the pocket, and getting the ball out of his hand more quickly. The O-line is terrible at pass protection, but Grif needs to improve on making his reads and getting rid of the ball in under 3 seconds, which would reduce much of the excess punishment he takes.

I guess people were already tuned out by the time Cousins came in last week. Expect more of the same.

Both QBs are going to take hits and play poorly behind that offensive line. I don't know what it is about some people that just fail to realize how much a poor offensive line affects a QB's game. RG3 and Cousins are not Big Ben, Aaron Rodgers, or any other veteran QB out there that can overcome a poor offensive line. Hell, a poor offensive line is probably one of the reasons why Eli Manning has 16 INTs in 13 games.

Regardless of how you see it, this is a lose-lose situation for every one but Shanahan.

Let's call it what is really is, a BS move on Shanny's part to further tick off Snyder. This is Shanny's version of the swinging gate play.

He's not concerned with RG's health, otherwise why trot him out there on a snowy and sloppy field last week? Why didn't he have him sit out the first few games of the season? And why aren't other key players getting sat down to protect them as well?

Calling it anything other than a power play is just naive.

What you say may be true but I don't care if Shanny has some devious reason (or a good one, for that matter) for benching RGIII.

What I care about is getting RGIII off the field so that Kyle doesn't have any more opportunities to do something stupid, like running the Triple Option, to get RGIII seriously injured again. I want the new Head Coach to have a healthy RGIII.

How do you know that Dan Snyder doesn't feel the same way I do, knowing that he is going to be starting over after this season and probably fearing, as I do, that another serious injury to RGIII could be the coup de grace to this horrible season?

I think the running game last yr covered up the fact that RGIII waits way too long for WR's to get open. You never see RGIII throw a ball anticipating a WR to be at a certain point. Its always after they have made their cuts and if they happen to then get separation. The open window in the NFL is much smaller then college and it seems RGIII does not throw into that small window for whatever reason. With the running game last year we had guys wide open so it was easy and now its not. For him to be successful he has to start anticipating the spot to throw the ball more. I say he needs the work.

I'll add is our line really that bad or do the D's know he holds the ball too long and coming after him. He never seems to check down to his hot read to slow down the rush.
