Lol, 26 years old, 5th year pro = long in the tooth.

Time to find his replacement I say, especially at this point of his LONG career, can't hold on to him for too long.

Helu letting that punt get blocked reminded me of this year's Hard Knocks show. If you guys didn't catch the episode where ATL's ST coach goes nuts on a rookie RB, you need to watch it. "Your not good enough to be an a@@hole!".

The biggest positive from this week is that every other team in the NFC East lost.

Positives
Morris looked great and run blocking was good also
I thought RG3 looked good overall
Andre Roberts looks good receiving and returning kicks

Negatives
So many to list where to start
Pass blocking was awful
Special teams awful
Coaching was awful

I just finished watching nfl rewind, out of the 18 rushing plays between Morris and Helu only twice were they stopped for little or no gain, most of the other rushes were for over 5 yards,Gruden should not have gotten away from it.
Gruden needs to step up his game

Here is a play that stands out that most people would blame Polumbus for. While Polumbus does get beat, I want you to notice the pocket that is formed up front. A QB has to step up into the pocket to make those throws and buy himself time. Notice that Robert doesn't slide forward and hence the pressure. You can't expect Polumbus to block Watt on a 1 on 1 basis. Most of the time in the NFL, the QB has a way of making the OL look good.

Some PFF notes on the Texans game (positives & negatives)
---------------------------------------------------------------
As always, players are compared among those with over 25% of snaps.

Not including the 2 Monday night games.
---------------------------------------------------------------
The Positives:

Robert Griffin III had the 2nd highest completion rate (78.4%) among QB's. His 267 yards and 96.7 passer rating were 11th. We were guinea pigs to the Texans D, just like we were guinea pigs to the Eagles O last year.

Signature Stats: The good: RG3 was #1/28 in accuracy (91% accounting for drops, throwaways, spikes, batted passes, & hits as thrown). He was #4/28 in accuracy under pressure, and #5/28 in PFF's adjusted passer rating. The bad: He had the 3rd longest avg time to throw (2.93 seconds). It seems his accuracy was good BECAUSE he waited so long for the perfect opportunities. Peyton Manning is still #1 in time to throw, and Andy Dalton #2.

Andre Roberts graded #3/53 among kick/punt returners FUCK YEAH. His 18 yds/punt return is 2nd, and his 28 yds/kick return is 7th.

Our punter Tress Way graded #6/28 YEAH MUCH IMPROVED

Our receivers had 0 drops, after being top 5 in drops for the last two years.

Our DE's are way better: Jason Hatcher graded #5/44, Chris Baker #20/44, Jarvis Jenkins #29/44. That's much better than last year when all our DE's were graded in the bottom 25th percentile. If Cofield played (ankle sprain) instead of Jenkins, they would've been that much better.

Our ILB's are way better: Keenan Robinson graded #6/46, Perry Riley #22/46. Keenan Robinson allowed 1 of 4 passes for 6 yds (and he's our highest graded ST's player). Last year London Fletcher was dead last among 100 ILB's (respect, only because of old age).

Kory Lichtensteiger graded #5/30 among Centers.

Our run defense held Arian Foster to 3.8 yds/carry (PFF actually graded him -5.0 hahaha). Last year PFF graded our run defense 31st so that looks much improved.

Alfred Morris ran 6.5 yds/carry (5th), and Roy Helu ran 11.5 yds/carry (although his blocking was questionable).

Jarvis Jenkins was penalized on a late hit to Ryan Fitzpatrick... Who cares? I'm glad our 2nd round pick is finally making it to the QB, good for him. Questionable call anyway.

Niles Paul caught 86 yds, 2nd among TE's only to Julius Thomas (see: 3 TD catches in the first half).

Jadeveon Clowney got 0 QB pressures on 13 rushes.

Polumbus was graded #5/60Idon'tknowwhybutItrustthem. His run blocking was 8th, and his pass blocking was 24th.

The Medium:

Rak, Kerrigan, and Murphy were graded average and didn't do much, but I think its because the Texans ran the ball so much since they had the lead. But not every game will be like that. Orakpo only pass rushed on 12 of 20 pass plays. Wtf is he afraid to take on elite LT's? Kerrigan rushed on 21 of 24.

Guards Chester and Lauvao graded about average.

The Negatives:

Cofield right ankle sprain

Jordan Reed hamstring strain

Our secondary is still very bad: PFF graded our Safeties in the bottom 10th percentile, and our CB's in the 60-70th percentile (both about the same as last year).

Logan Paulsen graded #43/49, as always

Yes, you make a good, well-illustrated point. I think we need to be able to accept that there are many fundamentals of playing QB, especially in the NFL, that Robert hasn't yet learned. He got by largely on his exceptional talent before now. Now, he is being taught those fundamentals and he must learn them on the job. That means we're going to see uneven play from him for a while.

On the other hand, as he continues to develop his fundamentals and pairs those skills with his athletic gifts we should also start to see him make more big plays and fewer negative plays.

Although I have some concerns about his judgement and instincts as a QB at this point, I also believe that he is a bright man who is working hard to improve. He wants to be the best but he must develop a stronger foundation of QB skills in order to become the best. Once playing the position the right way becomes second nature to him, he can leave behind the over-thinking and hesitating and let his talent express itself.

I have no idea how long it might take for him to get to that point. It might even be next season. Nevertheless, I think he is good enough to win with right now as long as he and the other players eliminate the most egregious of the negative plays that have plagued us as a team.

Hard to understand the Chester, Kory and Polumbus rating.

But finally to have some true stats to what I saw from RG3 holding the ball too long. He needs to learn to trust his eyes, read the d properly and make a decisive throw. Passing concepts like "throwing a guy open" "throwing to spots" "throwing before the reciever gets his head around or before coming out his break" need to be incorporated.

NC_Skins, that's a nice picture of it. My only question (I really don't know) is that from the screen shots Watt is around Polumbus in 1 second and at Griffin's feet, and Griffin is already in a quick throw motion. If it was a quick pass, where Griffin is just supposed to release it within 3 seconds, and Polumbus didn't hold his block for even that second, does that change your opinion. Obviously, I don't have a hand timer, so only looking at the seconds that have elapsed from shot two to shot 3, but that doesn't really change my question. If the QB expects to drop set throw in 3 seconds, should a RT be able to hold a pocket that long?
