Watt basically won that game. He's going to do that this year. He owned the game.

That game was lost, not won.

Agree with you about the game plan. It was weak. Jay Gruden needs to improve and he knows it.

Robert is going to take a little longer. He needs some time to get rid of old, bad habits and to feel comfortable doing things the right way.

I thought the game plan was fine, and executed nicely as well.

This game really came down to the stupid mistakes. We lost, like you said... they didn't win. If Helu had blocked Blue, Paul hadn't fumbled, and Griffin hadn't tripped over Lichtensteiger's foot, we would have won the game and nobody would be complaining about the game plan.

Sure, we could have went with longer routes, but Griffin was already getting hit like it was. It would have been really ugly if he had started waiting 4 seconds for Jackson to get open downfield.

Perhaps we should have ran more, but if you take away the plays in the two-minute drills, the run-pass ratio was fairly close. If I counted right, the ratio outside those two minute drills was 23 passes(not counting the plays that were penalized), and 17 rushes. It's not like Gruden was heaving the ball all over the place. And if we had had the lead for most of the game, I'm sure we would have ran way more.

Also, I made this point already Sunday I believe, but Reed going down hurt as much as anything. I'm sure he was a key part of the game plan.

In the end, to me at least, it came down to two things: boneheaded plays and JJ Watt.

Eric Winston is looking for a job but for some reason Tyler Polumbus is on our roster!?!?

Not saying Polumbus is better but there is a reason why Winston is always looking for a job.

i tempered my disappoint in the play calling since i heard RG3's presser, Keim and others say the texans D played deep dropping 2-3 back almost every single play and forced a short pass game plan.

the Texans D scheme should have been perfect for us since we were going into the game with a short passing scheme but alas, turnovers in the RZ and the fact that we cant sustain long drives without getting a sack or some other screw up.

RGIII spent too much time looking at the rush and not enough time looking downfield. that was my take away from watching the game.

however, if you take away the turnovers, we could have won even with the other issues. so there's hope, but there's some work to do before the team is ready for prime time.

Turnovers were the main reason we lost. You can't give up the ball twice in the redzone and expect to win.

Good notes from Keim on Orakpo's pressure throughout the game.

They were real killers. 2 great possessions to start the 2nd half, could have easily been 2 big TDs. Instead, nothing. Just absolutely killed us,

For everyone blaming the O-line for everything, here's a play that happens just about every game. Stafford gets pressured immediately, steps up, slides to the left and buys enough time to complete a pass downfield. ALL QBs get pressured constantly, not just RG3:

:58 mark. Nice play by Stafford about :30 into it as well.

Polumbus may not be all world, but as Cooley pointed out in his film breakdown yesterday, Robert routinely puts him in bad situations and makes him look worse than he is as a result. Like Zoolander, he can't go left;)

I thought Griffin played well under pressure for the most part. Especially after watching it again. He completed several passes with guys in his face and he did so with accuracy too.
